Hadith 37
Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Sadness/Grief/Depression

Abu Sa`id and Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Never a believer is stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry or even the pricking of a thorn but Allah will expiate his sins on account of his patience”

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Sadness, Depression, Anxiety; these 3 things are destructive to the human body & soul. They make a person loose hope & give up. But DO NOT succumb, fight it!!! How??? Turn to Allah, I know sometimes a true believer is tested with these 3 emotions, but yes turn back to Allah. If you need medical help don’t be ashamed, NO!!! *NEVER* be ashamed, seek help. From a psychiatrist, or some good righteous friends, But always remember Allah doesn’t hate you!!! This life is a school and you will surely be tested, all of us will and everyone has their specific tests. So NEVER believe that Allah hates you because He doesn’t, He loves you more than anything & anyone include yourself . Satan is the one whispering those negative thoughts in your head, AuoothubillAh!!! Fight him!!! Remember he hates us all and seeks to destroy us anyway he can.
Even our beloved Prophet was tested with sadness, many sahibs were tested with it and also many well known scholars have been tested with these 3 emotions, so don’t worry & have patience for you will also come out of this dark cloud shining brighter than the sun In Shaa Allah. Ameen!!!

“Verily, with every hardship comes ease.”

And Allah reminds us in the Holy Quran:

”Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.” {Quran 13:28}
“O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, “Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.” {Quran 66:8}
”So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers. “ {Quran 3:139}
“And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.” {Qur’an 27:70}
“So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare.” {Qur’an 36: 76}

And we conclude with this dua’:

”اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن وأعوذ بك من العجز والكسل وأعوذ بك من الجبن والبخل وأعوذ بك من غلبة الدين وقهر الرجال.”
“I seek Your protection against worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and selfishness, from overwhelming indebtedness and the subjugation of people.”
