Natural response: worry

I think for some people their natural response is to worry.

We get so used to freaking out that even when there’s nothing wrong we feel as though we have to worry still.

It’s sad. Some of us live in a constant state of fear and worry.

Have you ever just thought logically to yourself like “there’s actually nothing wrong. This should be simple and resolved easily” but somewhere in the back of your mind, you’re still freaking out.

That’s what I mean. I’m not sure what happened to cause you to be in this constant state of worry. Maybe a parent was always paranoid or always making a big deal of things. Maybe you have been in extreme situations and you’re afraid to go back. I’m not sure.

But let me just tell you, you don’t have to live this way.

God has you. Cliche, sure, but a lot of cliche things are true. This is one. God has things in His control. You can’t allow outside circumstances to determine whether God is around or not. Not everything looks as it seems.

Remember that God never changes. He’s always stable. God is always there. God is all-knowing and all-powerful. He knows the future and knows what needs to happen. And He loves you and wants to take care of you.

So don’t allow the enemy to fill your mind with worries. Worrying adds nothing to your life but misery. (Matthew 6:27)

So, allow God to fill your mind with good things from His word. Like:

He will never leave or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

He is close to the broken-hearted. (Psalm 34:8)

The Lord is your shepherd (He takes care of you) therefore you lack nothing. (Psalm 23:1)

Cast your anxiety on Him. (1 Peter 5:7)

Please don’t let evil win by taking control of your mind.

Choose joy. Choose peace. Choose to believe in God’s promises.
