Lately 've been reading some of those "back to school" articles that people has been posting in here and i asked myself "should i do one of these?" but, somehow, i wasn't fully convinced by the questions because as you can see by the title of this article, i will be studying abroad starting this september, and i expect it to be a not-so-normal year.

That's why i decided to write this article, in which i will not explain how to aply or all the paperwork as that's something that varies depending on the country. In my case, i'm from Spain so if you're also from Spain and have any doubts then you can just send me a message and i'll try to help ☺

Well obviously, korean. I will be doing an intensive korean language program from monday to friday (9am-1pm). Apart from that, i am also planning on studying two more subjetcs so i can validate them and have two subjects less to study when i come back.

I am actually quite scared about these classes because they are all in korean lmao

I don't know if you guys have heard about a thing called "goshiwon" (고시원) before but, in case you haven't, they're like a guesthouse but with private rooms. Honestly, they're the cheapest place to stay i could find in Seoul.

In general, the rooms are pretty small, that's true, but all goshiwons include things like wifi, rice, kimchi, ramen, coffee, tea, kitchen utensils, vacuum, washing machine, cctv, fire safety, 24h staff, room lock, etc. This place i'm staying in also includes air conditioner and heated floor.

I will be studying in there for a whole year so i need to take a big suitcase with me (it is so big that i can fit inside, literally). I have to bring summer and winter clothes, but i am planning on not bringing much, only my favorite clothes, and just buy things in there because i think korean clothes are pretty cute and that's why i haven't been spending any money in clothes for the past few months.

I will buy what i need for winter once i am in there because it is hella cold in Korea in winter and as i am not used to cold, i don't have the necessary clothes. Also, i will bring a swimsuit because you never know, i may have the chance to go to the beach or waterpark someday.

Apart from clothes, i will also bring a pillowcase and some bedsheets (i heard they're hella expensive in Korea and i'm not really sure they'll provide them in the place i'm staying so), toiletries, my hair straightener, my laptop, all of my scrunchies, some gifts for my friends, some spanish food that i think i'll miss, and last but not least, documents like passport copy just in case and some university documents i need to take with me.

I will be taking a backpack with me for this trip, which will include things like my water bottle (important for hydrating yourself often); earphones, essential; spare clothes just in case my suitcase gets lost for a few days; toothbrush; skincare (face wash, moisturizer, suncreen, face mist) to wash my face, refresh and hydrate myself; chapstick; an e-book, so i can read during the flight if i get bored of watching movies; handcream; melatonin, so it helps me sleep a little bit; wet wipes, so i can clean up the table and the seat a little bit before getting comfortable (you never know how dirty it can be); a portable battery; and some snacks.

Well, i am super excited as well as scared. What i am most scared about is not the fact of living alone in a different place as i am pretty used to it by now, but the trip itself.

It will be the first time that i am travelling all by myself, and it's a huge trip. What also makes me scared is the fact that i will be meeting lots of new people. Just like the first day of class in a new school. However, i hope that i really make good friends not only from Korea but from other parts of the world.

I am worried now because i am a very anxious person, but i know that everything will be just fine.

Wish me good luck in this new adventure! ❅❅❅
