道德經 = The Classic of the Way and Virtue

That is the literal translation of Tao Te Ching.
But what is Tao Te Ching?
Probably one of the most inspiring, motivational and amazing books I have ever read.
Tao Te Ching is an ancient -literally ancient- Chinese text written by the legendary Chinese philosopher and writer Laozi.
At some point, it was even considered a religion.

No, this isn't a religious article.
The main goal of this article is to introduce you guys to the genius words of Laozi.

Fill your bowl to the brim
and it will spill.
Keep sharpening your knife
and it will blunt.
Chase after money and security
and your heart will never unclench.
Care about people's approval
and you will be their prisoner.
Do your work, then step back.
The only path to serenity.

this is an expert from the book.
you have fallen in love with it already, no?

Whats wonderful about Tao Te Ching is that it just tells you to be.
No do good don't do bad, instead, it advises you to simply be.
Let life flow...

It leads you to a relaxed life where you just simply be.

In dwelling, live close to the ground.
In thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, don't try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
In family life, be completely present.
When you are content to be simply yourself
and don't compare or compete,
everybody will respect you

This book calms me every single time I read it.
Laozi's words speak to the soul, penetrate your brain and relaxes you.
You see that you may be holding on to stuff that is not worth holding on to.
You realize you are complicating your life.
Laozi's words change your point of view of the world.

Maybe the world is not so cruel, maybe we are looking at it from the wrong point of view and maybe Laozi can change that...

I just wanted to share this because it is honestly helpful, very helpful.
And I sincerely hope it helps you the way it helped me...

48
In pursuit of knowledge,
every day something is added.
In the practice of the Tao,
every day something is dropped.
Less and less do you need to force things,
until finally you arrive at non-action.
When nothing is done,
nothing is left undone.
True mastery can be gained
by letting things go their own way.
It can't be gained by interfering.
33
Knowing others is intelligence;
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
mastering yourself is true power.
If you realize that you have enough,
you are truly rich.
If you stay in the center
and embrace death with your whole heart,
you will endure forever.
