From the moment we are born, we are conditioned to play a certain way, act a certain way, what not to do, what we’ll be punished for, and what we’ll be rewarded for. Slowly but surely, we conform our personalities and characteristics to fit the mold of perfectionism. We become someone who checks all the boxes, as opposed to someone who signs off from autopilot and signs onto independent thinking.

As perfectionists we are so focused on achieving specific goals, that we miss out on the lessons included in the journey. The lessons (or what some coin as the "struggles") are what help us evolve into a better version of ourselves. So, if we keep ourselves in that autopilot mode, we miss out on the lessons that come our way for the sole purpose of upgrading us.

There is a term that is so important to work through your perfectionist characteristics in order to achieve your goals continuously. It’s called ‘grounding’. Grounding is vital to take you away from autopilot mode, and into realism mode. Grounding consists of taking those pauses throughout your days, weeks, months, etc. to break away from the routine.
Grounding is basically balancing out the spiritual and physical energy in your body, by connecting yourself with the earth. Doing this will help bring you into alignment and balance.

Grounding will help wake you up from the perfectionist programming, and allow you to become more practical, and in-tune with your goals. You will be able to strategize in more efficient ways, which in turn will help your journey towards your goals become easier. It will liberate the mind of unnecessary energetic constraints, allowing more room for critical thinking to flow. Climb down from the perfectionist altar, and ground you back to reality.
