I've been feeling super unmotivated lately. Usually, around Spring I'm excited to be out and about.

I love to hear the birds chirping early in the mornings, the smell of flowers, the sight of bees and butterflies or even just approaching the beauty of nature when it blossoms with color and delightful scents.

However, I've been feeling super unmotivated. I came across this article and was inspired to share my own views on how to find motivation to get out of a rut.

If you have been feeling unmotivated or like you have zero interest on achieving your goals here are some things that have helped me and are super helpful when it comes to achieving ANY goal.

01. Simplify

For me, it's not about not knowing what my goals are or my dream life is because that is something that is really clear. However, I tend to overdo it. Like having too much on my plate and then I tend to drop everything and I feel so overwhelm that I don't want to do anything anymore.

Simplify by writing down your top three goals for the day and then create 5 more goals that you can go if you complete the first three.

If you add more than that and your daily to-do list resembles a grocery list you will give up before you even start because it can be overwhelming to take on so much at one time.

So focus on 3-5 daily and no more than that.

02. Make a vision board

I 100 percent agree with the article that you should create a vision board that represent where you want to be in life.

We are visual creatures and using a vision board is a great way to manifest and be excited about the things ahead. I like to write and also print images that represent the goals that I want to achieve.

A vision board can even be a digital space like WeHeartIt or Pinterest.

03. Surround Yourself With People Who Motivate You

There is this saying in Spanish that goes "Dime con quien te juntas, y te dire quien eres" Which just translates to, tell me with who you are around and I'll tell you who you are.

The people that we are surrounded by also translates how we see the world. If you are surrounded by people who are go getters and they are accomplishing what they put their mind too, then more likely than not this will rub off on you and you'll start doing the same.

However, if you are around people who complain and always have excuses for things, then you might start doing the same and that kind of energy rubs off on you and all of a sudden you start to feel crappy about life and achieving your goals.

04. Do something nice for others

This may seem a bit weird. You might be thinking, "how can doing something nice for someone else help me?" well the reality is that we are creatures that like to be accepted by others and doing something for someone else helps with that.

Doing something nice for someone else makes us feel accomplish and helps us see beyond ourselves and what we might be going through and gives us perspective.

Like if you are in a rut, but then you find out that someone in school or work or even people in your community are going through something though like they lost their job, they don't have a place to live, or they lost a loved one. Then it can give you perspective in your own life and also makes the day of someone else.

05. Make Your Life Aesthetically Pleasing

Is there an aesthetic that you like? Then try to recreate that aesthetic in your own life.

You don't have to be wealthy or have it all figured out.

Do the little things that you like now, like going on coffee dates and taking pictures of it or having a picnic with friends and having a photoshoot.

Don't wait until you achieve that goal to start living the life you have always wanted to live. Start today.
