We're more than halfway into the year. Still, January feels like it was only yesterday, but also a decade ago. I haven't done much this year, so when school reopened in July, I decided to treat it as a new beginning.

Oof this aspect of my life has been a trainwreck. My grades have been dropping considerably, and I'm only pleased with my performance in three classes (I have seven). My grade went down by around 27% in one of the classes because I didn't realize that there was another page of questions. The worst part was I had rechecked the paper four times, and still submitted it early! Still, I'll be more attentive next time and will have to try new study techniques for Physics, English, and Theory of Knowledge. Please message me if you have any advice!

I've been doing pretty well in this aspect of my life, thankfully. This year, I'm vice president of the student council, I'm leading the Yearbook Club, and I'm writing articles about gardening for the school website. What I'm most excited about, however, is a special project I've been working on for a few months now. Some of my friends and I have finally brought the concept of clubs to our school! We've always had mandatory artistic and sports activities after school, but nothing is student-initiated and voluntary. We've set up a platform so that we can help students initiate, lead, and participate in one-month clubs! This month, I'm leading a sustainability club and I'm so happy with the progress we've made.

With school becoming increasingly demanding, and my various extracurriculars, I've started to get stressed out quite a bit recently. Still, I have been able to manage it well since I really like all of my classes (except English), and have so much fun with my extracurriculars. Interacting with so many different people has been very refreshing. Working out regularly has helped me a lot, but I think my biggest source of motivation has been WHI! I joined the WHI community discord (@whidiscordcomm) a few months ago, and recently I've been talking to the members a lot, I've been participating in collaborations (with @whibookclub), I've started writing more articles here (check out 'Unmasking the Rainbow' - my new series about the LGBTQIA+ community), and have been a lot more active in general. I have benefited from the positive, supportive atmosphere here on WHI and am so glad to be a part of this community.

So, thank you for helping me. Even if we've never interacted, thank you, because you still helped make WHI the positive place it is.
