🌻 day xiii: make a list of your three favorite books.

  • 'the hobbit' by j.r.r tolkien (1937)
i know that book since i was born. my dad is a huge fan of tolkien and he read to me every time i went to sleep and I saw the movies with him as well. i have really good stories with this topic, maybe posting later.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." -literally, one of my favorite quotes from a book. every time i read brings joy to my life.
  • '1984' by george orwell (1948)
i read this at school and it stuck in my head since then and every time people asks me my favorites i say this one.

winston smith lives in a society where the government controls people every second of the day. he fights this world with love. but it's dangerous: love for another person can be punished by death - and big brother is always watching.
  • 'one hundred years of solitude' by gabriel garcía márquez (1967)
another from school that surprised me back then. it's not my number one -that's why is not up there- but it also stayed with me until this day for some reason.
witch, dark, and magic image Temporarily removed
the brilliant, bestselling, landmark novel that tells the story of the buendia family, and chronicles the irreconcilable conflict between the desire for solitude and the need for love—in rich, imaginative prose that has come to define an entire genre known as "magical realism."
