types of continuous heartbreak: maple

a rose bud down your throat
mashed together with honey
not ugly tears
but
a river of
watery ones
the dam just broke open
again
you said too much
it's all over
and you drown
the veil tears again and you leave
only to be pulled down again by something you cant control
it isn't fair
you're choking
struggling to breathe
you try too hard
they don't try at all and get everything
spinning in an abandoned church
wearing
a dusky pink silk dress
your head exploring every idea
light coming in through the windows
you want someone to understand
but
the words come out wrong
and here you are again
the dam broke open
the problem is
gone
only to start
again
soon
a cruel fate you can't escape
you wish you took your own advice
but you can't
they were all right
all along
