Hey hearters! Welcome to the second article of my "Musings" series.

This one is about my favorite book: The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger

๐™’๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฉ?

The novel follows Holden Caulfield, as he journeys back home to New York City after being kicked out of a prestigious boarding school. Throughout the novel, Holden experiences multiple endeavors, most of which are fueled by his swirling emotions and outlook on situations in life. Holden is angsty, most likely depressed, and almost always contradicts himself.

This novel is probably one of the most popular novels ever written. It's also probably one of the most controversial. One of the things I love about it is the symbolism. Through Holden's complex thoughts and wonders, we the reader, is forced to wonder and observe and think about the world around us. Furthermore, I closely relate to Holden as he makes very angst based decisions and has an overall pessimistic outlook on life. The novel can be interpreted in so many different ways, which is why I think it's so intriguing and gravitating.

I recommend this novel for anyone, especially teenagers. If you're going through a rough spot or if your going through an ~ angsty ~ phase in your life (or have an angsty personality), thus book is definitely for you. You'll enjoy the cast of characters and most importantly, Holden's outlook, which makes the novel as special as it is.
