I feel a little weird doing this, I'm not good at first impressions or conversation in general, and I tend to be terribly shy, but I'll try to introduce myself anyway: hello, lately I go by Eve and I've been a part of We Heart It for many years.

Writing has always been one of my favorite things in the world and I've been meaning to try the article feature since it was added, but I was always too shy. Too scared of making mistakes, too scared of people not liking what I write, too scared of running out of ideas and leaving yet another thing unfinished (something, I'm embarassed to admit I do way too often). But then on December 31st the clock stroke midnight, 2020 began and things got actually, seriously scary.

Don't get me wrong, this pandemic hasn't been kind to me (or to anyone), but it helped me realize how insignificant my fears were.

So.

I dropped out of college recently, which was a very hard decision, and maybe I will talk about it someday. And so, this past couple of weeks I've been questioning what I should do with all this new-found free time, there's only so much hours I can spend watching Netflix or mindlessly scrolling through my phone before I start growing restless. Today I decided to give writing a shot.

I chose to start my first article with a tag I found somewhere deep into this website that I really liked. It's called "If I could", and it seems like a good way to introduce myself.

I. If you could change your name

If I could change my real name (Eve is not it, by the way), I'd go with its French version, because I'm the only one on this side of the family who doesn't have a French name and that has bothered me since I was a kid.

II. If you could live anywhere

If I could live anywhere I would live in a quaint little village in Narnia. Because I never outgrew that stage of my life.

III. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive

There's so many people that I'd love to meet and have a very long talk with, but right now, If I had to meet anyone, I would meet Boudica, warrior queen of the Incenii. I think her story is so incredible and she's been kind of a role model of mine since I was 15 or 16.

IV. If you could travel anywhere

I've been dreaming of going to Armenia since I was 4 or 5 (yeah, that long), so if I could travel anywhere, that's where I would go.

V. If you could stay any age forever

Being honest, if I had the chance to stay any age forever, I wouldn't take it. I believe mortality is what makes life meaningful and I consider ageing, specially with someone by your side, to be such a wonderful thing. Wrinkles and grey hair are signs of experience and life, and I think they have its own kind of beauty. It's a shame the way our society treats growing old, which is natural and simply means you lived a long life.

That's all. I hope this wasn't very boring and if you liked it (or me) please hang around, because I plan on writing a lot more :)
