Chalchiuhtlicue (pronounced Tchal-chee-uh-tlee-ku-eh) is the goddess of running water and the patroness of childbirth. She is the wife of Tlaloc, god of rain and storms. Her name means 'she of the jade skirt', and is often depicted wearing blue or green skirts, from which flows water.
