How To Get Clear Skin

Step 1: Get plenty of sleep

Shooting for between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night will greatly improve skin appearance and is the number one way to get rid of dark circles and eye bags.
Step 2: Find your skin type

There are four (technically five) skin types: dry, oily, normal, combination, and sensitive. Find which you have and use products to target that type.
Step 3: Only exfoliate once a week

Over-exfoliating can be really damaging from your skin. A lot of exfoliants are very abrasive and can strip your skin of natural oils and tear the skin. Keep it to a minimum.
Step 4: Layer products from thinnest to thickest

Your lightest products will go first and the thickest will go last- the means eye creams, sunblock, and moisturizer go on at the end and cleanser and toner go on at the beginning.
Step 5: Stop picking at pimples

Picking at pimples can no only worsen them by introducing more dirt and oil but can even create acne scars.
Step 6: Be gentle with your skin

A lot of people are way too rough with their skin. Handle it very gently- it's delicate! Pat your face dry and be soft and smooth with products.
Step 7: Try Niacinamide
skin and the ordinary image
Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B-3. It builds proteins in the skin (for plumper and younger looking skin) and locks in moisture. It has a lot more benefits than that, like reducing redness.
Step 8: Try Retinol

Retinol is in certain skincare products. It makes the skin plumper and reduces wrinkles and patches. However, it can be harsh on the skin and dry it out so make sure to use it under moisturizer and don't wear it in the sun.
Step 9: Try Vitamin C

Vitamin C has antioxidants which boost collagen and minimize wrinkles and scars. However, it's a little unstable, especially if used with retinol, so use it in the morning if you're also using retinol at night.
Step 10: Don't use makeup wipes

Makeup wipes are very abrasive to the skin and do a poor job of removing makeup (or cleansing the skin).
Step 11: Double cleanse to remove makeup

If you wear makeup, try this k-beauty tip: remove makeup with an oil based cleanser and then cleanse again with a foaming cleanser or face wash (water based).
Step 12: Increase facial blood flow

Facial massages or facial rollers are great for stimulating blood flow for plumper and rejuvenated looking skin. You can just massage your skin at home to boost circulation.
Step 13: Eat your greens

Eating veggies protects the skin from cellular damage. Their antioxidants prevent wrinkles.
Step 14: Wear sunblock every day

I can't say this enough. Wear sunblock every single day. No excuses. It's the best form of protection for anti-aging and youthful skin.
Step 15: Never attempt at home invasive procedures

A lot of people try DIY skincare or at-home microneedling and other at home procedures. The problem is 1) ingredients are unstable if not formulated and 2) at home procedures can be really dangerous. Go to a dermatologist or esthetician.

Hope that helped a lot of you out! Please wear your sunblock. Whether it's indoors or outdoors or hot or cold. Wear it. Be fantastic.
