A Brief History of the Rightly Guided Caliphs.

After the demise of Muhammad (peace be upon him), the era of Abu Bakr Siddiq, Umar Farooq, Usman Ghani and Ali Al-Murtada, Hassan Al-Mujtaba is called the Righteous Caliphate. The total period of this period is thirty years in which Abu Bakr Siddiq is the first and Ali is the last caliph. Six months of Hassan's caliphate are counted in the caliphate of Ali as is the opinion of the majority of the forefathers. The most prominent feature of this era was that it was a system of government based on the Qur'an and Sunnah.
The era of the Righteous Caliphate is very important in that Islamic teachings were followed and the principles of government were in accordance with Islam. It is also a time of Islamic conquests. In Islam, events such as the Battle of Jamal and the Battle of Safin took place. In addition to the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Palestine and Syria also came under the sway of Islam.
