Hi everyone,

If you've been on my account recently, you may have noticed that I decided to leave for a few days and place my page on private (maybe you did, maybe you didn't). The reason I did that was because I was having an all around rough week and I didn't want to project my sadness onto anyone else. My week hasn't even been bad. There wasn't even a specific thing leading me to feel annoyed. I just felt that way. I think it's a combination of too much social media exposure, the news being depressing all of the time, and me not being distracted by tasks right now.

To combat feeling irritated and annoyed by everything, I decided the other night that I was going to make my next morning and day the best one possible. Here is how I spent my day on Tuesday. It may not sound like much to the average person, but trust me, it made me so much happier! I would suggest implementing self care of some sort into your days if you're also feeling irritated or sad.

Wake up whenever you feel like it During the year, I used to wake up at 4 am for work and my internship. Ridiculous, I know. 😂 I just like having the quiet mornings to take things easy and relax! If you're in school, going to work everyday, or have other obligations, I'm sure that waking up early is a part of your schedule, too. For a better day overall, allow your body to wake itself up when it's ready to.

Remain in bed for awhile and go on your phone/laptop On this day of sleeping in, I decided to remain in bed for around an hour while going on my phone. I decided to only look at positive content during this time. I also made one of my favorite breakfasts- eggs and a bagel with cream cheese-and ate breakfast in bed.

Drink water I'm back to the gallon a day challenge on day four and I'm loving it! I'm finding that I'm a lot more energized and it's a lot easier this time around than previously (I posted an article about my prior experience a few months ago).

After relaxing, clean up room I made my bed, vacuumed, dusted, and straightened everything up. I always feel better in a cleaner space.

Exercise What I did this day was I chose my cutest workout clothes and did a 45 minute cycling workout. Lately, I've been alternating between running three miles and using the spin bike in my room. Since I still wanted to feel like I worked out, I took it easy on my bike and watched Youtube videos while doing it. You'll never regret a workout no matter how little or big it is!

Put on a cute outfit and makeup Since I've been feeling down, I decided to put on my cutest outfit, curl my hair, and try out new makeup looks. Doing so made me feel great! I even took cute pictures! This was the first time in a few weeks that I actually decided to put makeup on.

Listened to Christmas music I turned on the Chirstmas Hits channel on iheartradio (hey, it's Christmas in July 😂) and I jammed and danced around my room. It cheered me up big time!

Had a dinner I love Since I love tacos, I had a taco salad that night. It's the little things. Am I right, ladies?! 😂

Played a childhood game with my sister My sister and I are really close and I decided to come into her room with her to hang out. We played some Gameboy game that we used to play when we were in elementary school and had so much fun doing it! Our golden retriever also joined us and made it a lot funnier! He kept trying to get involved with the game 😂

Changed into Christmas pajamas I changed into a grinch sweatshirt to continue on with my Christmas in July trend. Then, I looked for a movie to watch on Comcast or Netflix. Unfortunately, the only Christmas movie available was ironically the Grinch on Netflix, but being in my grinch pjs, I figured it was meant to be 😂

Turned on fairy lights/ watched the Grinch Stole Christmas Guys, you HAVE to see my setup. How can one not feel happy in a room like mine?! It's so cool! I also had a snack. My sister came in to show me something and was like, "What are you doing?!! 😂👀". She even sent pics of me watching Christmas movies in Grinch pajamas to my mom haha. Hey, I'm trying to cheer myself up!

Did a face mask I used a marshmallow scented one that leaves my skin feeling great by the brand Bliss. I think I bought it at Target.

Got ready for bed To do so, I washed off my face mask, turned on the fan in my room, did some gratitude journaling, and ended the night off with a guided meditation for around 20 minutes.

And, that's about it! I know it may not sound like much, but it meant everything to me. At that point, I was willing to try doing just about anything to cheer myself up and feel better, and it helped! If you're feeling irritated or drained, use that as a sign to take a step away from the internet and recharge. You're worthy of self care, even if that means Christmas movies in the middle of July 💕

Take care,
