A Sinking Star

Hollywood’s star
He is beautiful
How you are loved
His hair, his eyes, his smile

He is beautiful
As the waves crash into the shore
His hair, his eyes, his smile
Shining under the sun

As the waves crash into the shore
He slips away into the water
Shining under the sun
He is alone

He slips away into the water
What use is beauty?
He is alone
Overcome by the waves

What use is beauty,
As you sink below the surface?
Overcome by the waves
Fame can do nothing here

As you sink below the surface,
Finally alone
Fame can do nothing here
Water fills your lungs

Finally, alone.
Hollywood’s star
Water fills your lungs
How you are loved.

(Written for class as a way to develop one of my OC's. A pantoum is a type of poem where lines B and D in a stanza are used as lines A and C in the next stanza and so on. This allows the same words to take on different meanings through the words they are paired with)
