Manifestation is essentially the belief that one bring all of your dreams and goals into fruition by simply thinking about them or writing them down. More specifically, you must "attract" what you want, by "believing" that it will come. It is also known as (or related to) the "Law of Attraction".

Some methods of manifestation include creating a vision board, writing in a gratitude journal, affirmations and several other methods. Anything visual is supposed to help you manifest your dreams.

No. At least, the law of attraction doesn't. According to an article on "Psychology Today", there are several reasons why the law of attraction doesn't work. These reasons include: lack of action, lack of planning, lack of time frame, lack of compassion, etc. (Link to article here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-blame-game/201609/the-truth-about-the-law-attraction). Manifestation in itself has a lot of loopholes and loose ends. But it is also obvious that we can't just sit and wonder about something and expect it to come true. Jeff Bezos didn't develop Amazon by "believing" that it was a thing. He had an idea and he worked towards it.

Nope. As I said before, success comes from hard work and determination. I also, have personally written down my goals a million and one times. I've visualized my goals coming into fruition a million times and the only success I've seen is the success that came when I started doing MY OWN research and visualizing MY OWN thoughts. Even though I believe in coincidences, it is obvious that people make choices. For example, I spent years thinking about playing in a band and months and months dreaming about guitar. When I realized that it would probably never happen, I gave up on it. Not too long later, my mom decided to give me the money to buy it. Some may call this a result of manifestation but it's not. This was a result of years of an emotional rollercoaster, arguments, compromises and finally, my mom making a decision that she knew I wanted her to make. Choices do not equal the universe.

Honestly I don't know. I think it's just a spiritual thing. I think people believe in it because they need to believe that things will work out after they've exhausted their work effort. I also think it's because people like the idea of magically "glowing up" or "leveling up" or "using success as a form of revenge".
