What is pores?

A pore is an opening in the surface of the skin. A pore leads to a sebaceous gland that lets out oil to lubricate and protect the skin, it also let some water out, water helps in temperature regulation.

But lot of us struggle with pores, so can you actually shrink your pores?

The short answer is NO! Your pore size was genetically determined and out of your control.

So you can’t actually make them smaller, but you can minimize them.

And here’s some action to do to help minimize pores:

• Keep them clean:

♥ Double cleanse twice a day to remove debris from your
pores so they aren’t clogged.

♥ Exfoliate every few days to remove dead skin cells that can
also clog your skin.

♥ Don’t use products that are too rich or heavy, as they tend to
clog your pores.

• Hide them with makeup:

♥ Obviously this doesn’t help make them smaller, but it will
reduce how large they appear on your face.

♥ Use a pore filling primer to fill in your pores so your
foundation looks flawless.

And as always here’s some simple homemade pores DIY recipes:

But before start applying the masks on your face, you should steam your face firstly, the steam causes sweat which opens up the pores, you can also add a few essential oils, because they can help to clean, condition and heal the skin, and they are really relaxing. Next bring your face to the steam and cover your head with a towel and make sure that you’re not close enough to avoid burning your skin, and just relax and stay comfortable, for about 15 to 20 minutes.

And now your skin is ready for the first DIY:

1. Baking soda mask:

This is really a simple DIY treatment, all you need is a 1 tbsp of baking soda with a little water to form a paste. And you apply this all over your face, massage this paste on your skin gently for 1 to 2 minutes, and you let it dry completely. Wash your face with cold water.

2. Egg mask:

All you need is an egg, one lemon and some honey. Egg whites are the best pore minimizers you can find in your kitchen. So you take the egg withes and you add it to your bowl. Add a tbsp of honey and some lemon, and mix everything well and you apply it on your face and you let it stay for 30 minutes, then rinse it off with water. This mask helps also to get rid of black heads.

3. Papaya mask:

Papaya is a rich source of antioxidant nutrients that helps improve your skin texture, elasticity and appearance. Take a fresh papaya and mash it to make a paste, then apply this paste to your face and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it with some warm water.
