So I started writing these quite some time ago, and then with all the stress in school and at work, I totally forgot about it and had no time to write. Any ways, I thought back then that I would give this a try, and now I'm picking it up to finish it. I can’t promise a new post every day, but I will however try my best and I will post the full 30. Please give me feedback if someone actually reads the entire thing!

I tend to overthink a lot of things, and everyone who overthinks knows that it's not that easy to stop doing so. Of course, it's easier to stop doing so when you're aware of it, but even then it's not easy as it's almost a rehearsed behaviour. Personally, I have always been someone who overthinks basically everything, and lately I have noticed how much it impacts my well-being.

So a while back, I found the quote above and it really hit me how much I do overthink. I decided to change it, and it hasn't been easy, especially as I suffer from anxiety but I can honestly say that this quote has helped me quite a lot. Whenever I notice myself overthinking about something I think of this quote, I breathe and let whatever I was thinking about go. Sure, you can't erase a thought completely from your mind, but you can decide not to think about it more than what's needed. An important thing to remember is that there are things that are out of your control, and when things are out of your control there's no point in wasting your energy on it.


Also, whenever I find myself getting an anxiety or panic attack I tell myself to breathe. Breathing can really help you with a lot of things, and especially when overthinking or getting one of these attacks. Obviously breathing doesn't solve anything by it's own, but it sure is a good start. By concentrating on your breath you can relax within yourself and maybe take a step back from the situation that stressed you.

Of course things like these are very individual but I have found that reminding myself to breathe, to relax and say to myself that some things are simply just out of my control really help me and my well-being.

Ever since I found this quote, I have done much less overthinking and my mind has been much more relaxed and well-rested, which has a positive effect on my life as well as my well-being. Things like support from your family, your partner or your friends are also important, some people maybe even need help from a therapist, but the change does come from within yourself. By taking care of yourself, by loving yourself and by being kind to yourself, your life can really change for the better.

Take care, and remember to talk about your feelings with someone you trust, or even with a therapist. There's absolutely no shame in talking to a professional, if it helps you and you feel good about doing so, do it. You won't regret it, I promise.
