Seasons 🌸

When you think of seasons, the first things that come to mind are probably the 4 periods of the year, spring, summer, fall, and winter. While the 4 seasons are excellent examples of seasons, they are not restricted to weather patterns.

A season can also be defined as an indefinite or unspecified period when a particular event, process, activity, etc., occurs.

Here are some examples of seasons under this definition

  • sports seasons ( football, basketball, track, etc)
  • A Season of Singleness
  • High school (a 4 year season) or college (4-6 year season)
  • Preparatory/ Training seasons
  • A period of Trials and Tribulations

A season can also be anytime period of time where you go under spiritual, mental, or physical growth.

What season am I in? 🕑

One season we are all in is Quarantine. I like to call it Spring Quarantine.

Quarantine: During this season, many state governments are trying to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus by enacting physical and social distancing. Many of us have been confined to our homes, with exceptions such as work, food errands/ groceries, and other necessities. Many gathering places such as conferences, concerts, malls, parties, movie theaters, parks, and even tourist areas, temporarily shut down.

Tick-Tock ⏳

An important thing you should know about seasons is that they do not last forever. Some seasons are longer than others, but they all eventually come to an end.

While we all may be facing and experiencing different things during quarantine, every season you go through has a purpose, and that includes this one. When a season’s time is up, it’s over… kind of like high school. You cannot rewind the clock, so take advantage of this season of quarantine. While the Coronavirus may seem like a hoax, and quarantine has no purpose and is just a way for the government to manipulate and control us (lol NO, just kidding), Please take advantage of this time.

1. Go to bed on time
I know it is super tempting to stay up until 3 am and wake up in the afternoon but DO NOT. Think about...we’re always complaining about being sleep deprived and now we have the opportunity to catch up on sleep. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT!

2. Get off your phone
All this free time and you want to waste it on social media?!?!
Do something that you did not have the time to do before. Exercise, paint, draw, watch movies, look up cooking recipes, develop a craft, sharpen a skill , but PLEASE try and avoid wasting countless hours on social media

3. Keep practicing good habits
If you're already being productive, keep up the good work. I know some people who are already self conscious about their productivity and the last thing you need is someone constantly telling you to be productive. So whatever good habits you are practicing, KEEP IT UP :)

a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
