Ma philosophie by amel bent is one of my favorite french songs. Not only for it's 2000s beat and her beautiful voice but also because of the lyrics. As i speak french, i understand the lyrics and am able to relate to them in my own way. But i want to share the meaning of this song so i've translated it into english.

I only have one philosophy
Being accepted as I am
In spite of everything I'm told
I'll keep my fist up.
For better or worse
I'm a half-breed, but I'm not a martyr.
I move with a light heart
But still with my fist up.

Raise your head and your chest.
Constantly increasing efforts
Life leaves me no choice.
I'm the ace that beats the king
Despite our sorrows, our differences
And all the relentless name-calling
I'll raise my fist

Even higher, even further

Aiming for the Moon
It doesn't scare me.
Even with wear and tear
I still believe in it and in my heart
Sacrifices
If I have to, I will.
I've done it before.
But still with my fist up

I'm not like all those girls
That we stare at ,that we undress...
I have shapes and curves...
It keeps hearts warm.
Girl from a working-class neighborhood
It's where I learned to be proud
Much more love than misery

More heart than stone

I only have one philosophy
Being accepted as I am
With strength and a smile
My fist raised towards the future
Raise your head and your chest...
Constantly increasing efforts
Life leaves me no choice.
I'm the ace that beats the king

Aiming for the Moon
It doesn't scare me.
Even with wear and tear
I still believe in it and in my heart
Sacrifices
If I have to, I will.
I've done it before.

But still with my fist up
Aiming for the Moon
It doesn't scare me.
Even with wear and tear
I still believe in it and in my heart
Sacrifices
If I have to, I will.
I've done it before.
But still with my fist up
Aiming for the Moon
It doesn't scare me.
Even with wear and tear
I still believe in it and in my heart
Sacrifices
If I have to, I will.
I've done it before.
But still with my fist up.
