Did you know that over 70% of girls between the age of 15 to 17 avoid doing daily activities because they feel insecure about their looks?

Not just girls but boys feel low self-esteem too and it is increasing. A recent study shows that over 40% of boys in middle school and high school regularly exercise to increase muscle mass because they feel pressured to have a better body image.

This also goes for adults as well and a study shows that an unbelievable 85% of people around the world have low self-esteem!

Occasionally, I even have low self-esteem and sometimes I think about my worth way too much. Some days my mind tricks me into thinking that I am not important in the world and I really believe it. Everyone in the world has felt this miserable and unworthy feeling. It's a part of life that each individual experiences because it is such an easy and negative thing to get yourself caught up into.

In this article, I thought I should provide a range of tips for people with low self-esteem, but don't get me wrong. People with high self-esteem can occasionally feel low at times so this blog is for anyone!

tip no. 1 {positive thinking}

Positive thinking is a great way to boost your self-esteem! Many of us think of negative thoughts without even knowing it because it is such a natural instinct.

Next time you find yourself thinking horrible thoughts about yourself, turn them into positive!

"I'll give it another try."

tip no.2 {jot down all of your qualities}

List down all the qualities that you can possibly think of. It can be how you love your hair, your eyes, your skill on an instrument, or even how kind you are to others. Jot them all down and embrace all the qualities that you have! It can make you feel so much better about yourself!

tip no. 3 {Stop comparing yourself to others}

Comparing yourself to other people is one of the biggest causes to low self-esteem. Whether that be someone with nice clothes or hair, more friends, followers and better grades, comparing your worth to someone else's can make you feel much better about yourself.

Especially when your self-esteem is low, you may feel like there is nothing good or special about yourself. But being kind to others not only makes that specific person happy, but you also. While helping someone, your negative thoughts are shifted to the side for a while. It makes you feel great about yourself, knowing that you did something good for someone else!

tip no. 5 {exercise}

Exercising is a great way to make you feel better and it's amazing for your health and fitness. Not only is it good for your physical health, but it is great for your mental health. It can set your mind in a positive state to yourself and everyone around you. The physical hard work of the exercise can improve your mindset by motivating yourself to push further than your limits. The success of finishing a workout, a run, or completing a long walk around the block can be highly rewarding.
