Hi everyone!

In this article I'm writing about 5 must know tips to getting fit! Enjoy!

1. It's Never Too Late

The first thing to remember when starting your fitness journey is that it's never too late to start. I know many people who have been active their whole life but didn't start their actual weight loss and fitness journey until a lot later. It's important to have something that is yours and something to be focused on every single day, whether it is going to the gym or eating clean. For me, going to the gym is"me time" and it's a place that I go when I'm either happy or sad.

2. Start Small & Easy

I know many people start off with throwing their everything into it, and usually it's about cutting sweets and putting themselves on a diet. I don't think a diet is the best way to start living a healthier lifestyle, if you want to maintain it. It's very hard to stick to it. What you actually have to do is to start small and easy. When we want to begin our journey on a healthy, balanced lifestyle, we need to either form habits or get rid of them. Pick one habit you want to form or get rid of and start from there. Personally for me it was only eating junk food on the weekends, since I used to eat it a lot during the week, too.

3. Progress Takes Time

I tend to be a very impatient person. I remember the first time I got into fitness. I had been working out for a few weeks and eating clean and all that good stuff, and then looking in the mirror and not seeing any changes. Be patient! Changes take time, and changes WILL come if you remember to be consistent and patient.

4. Don't Weigh Yourself

This has something to do with the previous tip. I used to weigh myself way too often and it would discourage me to keep going because I didn't see the numbers changing. What I started doing was taking progress pictures, because even if the numbers on the scale didn't change - I did see results when I looked back on my progress photos.

5. Workout With Friends

I know how hard it is to get your butt out of the couch and hit the gym after a rough day at school or work. I sometimes used to set up a gym date with my friend, and when it was time to leave the house I couldn't be bothered to cancel because I had already promised to go. I also realized that when I was working out alone I sometimes skipped some reps because I felt too lazy or I thought it was too hard. When I worked out with a friend we usually did the same workout and when the other one was doing a movement, the other one was catching their breath and recovering. That way I was more unlikely to skip any reps because my friend was always pushing me to keep going.
