shaky relationship between her father and mother, midge & bob pinciotti, who had her and donna when they were still in high school.
however, she has some difficulty expressing her feminine side, since she feels that she doesn't belong to the pretty clichรฉ girl. she uses skirts and dresses for special occasions, but mostly wears jeans and pants in her day to day life.

she's the perfect representation of the vintage style: mom jeans and printed t-shirts, comfy pants, shirts and denim jackets, sneakers and boots, and let's not forget her skateboard. she's almost like a skater boy, but in the body of a pretty teenager.

emma has many interests, literally: photography, listening to the music, going to concerts, playing games, getting informed in astronomy, smoking while hanging out or calling friends, singing, playing her beloved electric guitar and recording. the main thing she loves to do is singing, this is how she gets to know better her lovely half.

deep down, but very deep down, she has a soft heart for who she loves, from her family to her friends.

let's not forget the overly animated conversations at eric's house: he was never happy with what emma proposed, so she was constantly angry, creating a ruckus.
to him it took a long time to understand that emma was the love of his life, besides rock n roll, the same can be said of her.
