Hello dear hearters,
today I will be talking about girl group stage outfits in Kpop, that includes :

  • What makes a good stage outift?
  • Consistency in girlgroups
  • Problems in styling

(pls don't be offended when I put your faves in "bad example", it's not about them, it's about their stylists. Also they still look amazing so yeah)

  • First off all, the outfit should fit the body type of the idol, and be flattering to them

  • The outfits should have a consistent concept

  • The outfit should fit the song AND the idol (you shouldn't put the most cute and innocent member in leather clothes)

I didn't find any bad examples, so here's Sachaeng to bless your day
  • The outfit shouldn't look cheap (except it's expicially the concept)

  • Using colors that match, and don't mix patterns with patterns

Okay, so here, they did everything wrong thy could've done wrong. The skirt and the top have different patterns, and the red of the clothes doesn't match the purple of her hair, like, at all. Anyways, Dahyun still makes it look good.

When there are multiple people on stage, the outfits have to match in:

  • Style/Concept

  • Color scheme

Some things I noticed:

  • Same structure of clothes and being reused in different colors
blackpink, lisa, and rose image twice, nayeon, and kpop image
  • Use of a pattern on every member to make everything feel more consistent
lia, kpop, and itzy image itzy, yeji, and kpop image stage, f(x) krystal, and asian image asian, girl group, and kpop image
  • Or basically the same clothes but slightly different (same color/pattern)

  • All members wear the same outfit

  • Wardrobe malfunctions

Sometimes the outfits of idols fall apart during performances, and the idols have to fix it or hold pieces together while dancing.

Both Rosรฉs and Jennies tops opened during the performance
ioi, ์†Œ๋ฏธ, and ์ „์†Œ๋ฏธ image birthday, solo, and somi image
This corset thingy on Somi slipped during her dance
  • Way too short outfits

Stylists tend to give female idols incredibly short outfits, in which they often seem very uncomfortable. Idols can't perform and dance in these short dresses or skirts.
