Hello y’all!

When you are reading this I already know that you’re not a morning person. So let’s sit down, take another sip of that coffee and let me transform you with 5 easy steps. I’m going to be straight with you guys, I haven’t always been a morning person either, I was more like a grumpy little monster untill I realised my bad mood wasn’t making anyone better. So, I changed my morning routine and it worked out really well. Good news is that by the end of this post, you will be able to change your morning routine as well and enjoy waking up tomorrow!

1. Breakfast!

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love food? Like, a lot? Well, I can tell you that I truly love food and that this simple trick really did the magic of getting my grumpy ass out of bed early in the morning. I started to prepare my breakfast the evening before, so I had something to look forward to! This may sounds crazy, but if you wake up with the thought of having a healthy breakfast that will give you enough energy to get trough te morning, it really motivates you to get up! I”ll make sure to post some recipes of my favourite things to eat in the morning!

2. Preperation is key!

Nobody likes making choices, especially not that early in the morning. I was that kind of person who had the ‘just go with the flow ‘ mentality and that seriously doesn’t work. Like Andy Hunt says: “Only dead fish go with the flow.” Well, he was right. I would feel like a dead fish when I woke up unprepard and tired. So, instead of choosing my outfit for the day in the morning, I picked it out the evening before. I also made sure I prepared some food for work that I just had to put in my bag when I’d leave home. Just by changing my morning routine this little, I’d save so much time!

3. Coffee Baby!

I know there are a LOT of different opinions about coffee. I will make sure I write a post just about all the pros and cons about the use of coffee, but for now I”ll tell you how it helped me to have a fresh start in the morning! Let me start by telling you that I didn’t like coffee at first, untill I felt the energy it gave me. I drink my coffee with a lot of milk and a questionable amount of sugar, but it really gives me that little push to just jump in the car and start my day!

4. Notebook

I don’t know about you guys, but when I am laying in bed and I just can’t fall asleep my mind starts wondering about the most random things. I remember one night I was trying to figure out why penguins walk the way they walk. I also frequently find myself thinking about something that happened a billion years ago or I just have these crazy ideas that makes me wanna jump out of bed and try them out. These random thoughts made me lose so much sleep that I knew I needed to do something about it. Since a few years I keep this little notebook under my pillow and everytime I just think of something, I write it down. Not only will I remember this the next day, but I am also able to just fall asleep without worrying about something.

5. Regularity

The last thing I wanted to share with you guys is that it really helped me to have a regular time to get up in the morning. I started to wake up at 6:30 am for a whole week and my biological clock was activated! I tried to go to bed everyday at the same time, but that just stressed me out. Because on a weekday I would go to bed at 10 pm but in the weekend I sure as hell wasn’t able to sleep at that time! So I woudn’t push yourself to hard to go to bed early, but just try to get up on the same time for a few weeks, and you’ll see that in a while you”ll wake up before your alarm goes off!

Please let me know in the comments what trick works best for you!
