Goodmorning y’all!

New day, new week, new lifestyle! I’m so excited to tell you guys about my life-changing decision I made this weekend! I am going VEGAN! Now, you have probably heard a lot of people talking about it lately because it is becoming more and more of a lifestyle, but like most people I didn’t know a thing about it. The reason why I made this decision is because I love animals and I think they shouldn’t suffer just because I’m used to eating meat and other animal based products. In addition, I want to contribute to making the world a better place by stopping the climate change and world hunger. So, this all sounds very big and I’m fully aware that I can’t change everything on my own, but it really does help a little. In this blog post I will tell you everything you need to know to inspire you guys considering going vegan as well!

Save the environment!

I don’t need to inform you guys that there is a serious climate change going on and that we need to do something about it right now at this very moment before we destroy our planet. An Oxford University study shows that the dietary greenhouse-gas emissions among the people who eat meat were between 99-102 % higher than those who choose to be vegan. The U.N. believes that it is necessary to reduce the animal agriculture since this is responsible for more greenhouse gasses than all the world’s transportation systems combined. Since we’re talking facts: it requires 16.000 liters of water for 1 kg of beef, in other words: equal to almost two months showering. Honestly, I would have never thought consuming animal-based products would be so destructive for our planet.

You don’t need animal products

This might be difficult to comprehend, but there’s absolutely no prove that the human race must consume meat, dairy or any other animal based products in order to stay healthy. Most people are raised with the tradition of eating meat, but are not aware that this isn’t necessary for your health. In fact, every time you eat meat you’re consuming bacteria, dioxins, hormones, antibiotics and some other toxins that can cause health problems like cholesterol. Besides all those facts, it’s the sad truth that there are tens of billions of animals slaughtered for food every year. Only in the United States are 55 million animals slaughtered every day, that means 2 million per hour or 38.000 per minute. I don’t know about you, but that just hit me right in the face.

Your health conditions

Eating plant-based food is the one of the reasons why you tend to have a different state of mind: You feel less tension, fatigue and anxiety because of the level of antioxidants that are particularly found the most in vegetables and fruits. Not only your mind but also your skin will benefit of the high amounts of vitamins and minerals. The fiber will help with getting a better digestion of toxins which will give your skin an incredible boost! The only thing you need to keep in mind if you’re going vegan on the long run is to take some vitamine B12 supplements. This is the only nutrient that doesn’t exist in plant-based products.

These are the 3 most important reasons why you should consider going vegan! Ofcourse there are many other reasons left, but these were the most important to me! If you want to know more about it, or if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments!
