So, I was reading a book written by Joyce Meyer called "The Confident Woman." In a certain chapter she talks about how we cannot be confident women if all we do is doubt ourselves. She referred to this passage in James 1:5-8 (NIV):
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
I can't agree more! Because how can we live as confident women of God if all we do is doubt ourselves?
Holy Confidence
Here comes a word combination I totally made up myself,lol: holy confidence. What does it mean? Well, I started praying for this years ago: confidence. But it did not feel right. It felt arrogant and self-centred. So, I started to ask God to give me HOLY confidence. Holy means 'set apart, for God' and I wanted to live a life as a godly woman with confidence from Him. There are days where I totally live this out. There are other days where I forgot to pray this over myself and I need to pray it again and again until God breaks through. I can't do this in my own strength, I need His!
2 Corinthians 12: 5(NIV):
5 I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses.
Pray With Me (recommended: daily)
Holy Faither, thank You for never giving up on me. Cleanse my mind with the blood of Jesus. Fill me up with Your Holy Confidence as much as I need today. Don't let it all be about me and my goals, but let it be about Your goals. In Jesus name. Amen.
