Summer is the perfect occasion to travel. Leaving your home, discovering new horizons, breaking your comfort zones... Travelling helps you to rediscover yourself or to actually find yourself sometimes. We, as human beings, need to be quiet and to observe the beauty of what surrounds us. While travelling, it feels great to watch those unique landscapes going by through the window. Therefore, if you feel like losing yourself in a swirl of thoughts during a ride, listen to these 5 indie pop/folk artists. You won't regret it, buddy, I promise ๐Ÿ’š

To me, music is the most important thing in the world. It can help going through tough phases, and it also goes with you through really happy moments.. And later, when you listen to a special song, you'll remember these moments and see that only music can make you feel the exact same feeling that you felt.

๐Ÿ›ค Dotan

Let's start with the first singer that made me love indie folk music. I first heard his music while watching an episode from The 100 and I literally fell in love with the song, called Home II. The guitar is the base of each Dotan songs, soft in the background. But to me, drums are what makes his songs sound "adventurous", kind of like you are headed to nowhere but you don't care because all you want is going on an adventure (If you don't get what I mean, listen to Fall or Home). Anyway, go listen to him as soon as you can ๐ŸŒท

๐Ÿ›ค Walking On Cars

Walking On Cars is an irish band particularly known for their single Speeding Cars. First of all, I am fully in love with Patrick Sheehy's voice, which is kind of rough and reminds me James Arthur's. I simply love their music, lyrics and instrumentals, that are outstanding. There is a little melancholy in most of their songs, which is why I enjoy listening to them while travelling. So yeah, if you don't know them, go check their songs โ˜˜๏ธ

๐Ÿ›ค Vance Joy

I discovered Vance Joy while watching a 13 Reasons Why episode, in which Mess Is Mine was played. When I heard the first seconds of the song with that mellow guitar riff, I knew that I was going to love the song.
All of his songs are cute lullabies, that make you want to fall in love most of time. His voice is unique, his style is unique, his lyrics are unique... He's unique. And I love him ๐Ÿฅ€

๐Ÿ›ค Fink

As I said in a previous article, I discovered Fink thanks to a fan-made video about Even and Isak from Skam (best series ever).

It seems like you can feel a kind of tension in each of his songs and some kind of bitterness, through the acoustic guitar, that I could never get tired of. You feel like either having some chill times (๐Ÿ”Š Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us), or breaking the boundaries you decree to yourself, to know you even better (๐Ÿ”Š Warm Shadow). Fink's songs are definitely an invitation to go on trip in your mind, a journey in order to understand better what you are in your own right.

๐Ÿ›ค Ben Howard

Some say that he sounds like Ed Sheeran. I'm not part of these people. I'm a huge fan of Ed Sheeran's songs and I love both of them, but we can't compare them because Ben Howard has a different style to me. He has his own kind of music, his own world. Btw he's such an outstanding guitar player. I wish he could be more famous, because I'm convinced that his words and melodies can be a therapy to make the world better ๐ŸŒผ

๐Ÿ›ค Woodlock

Woodlock is a band that I don't know a lot but the few songs that I heard from them are great. Their instrumentals perfectly fit the mood of going on a trip, enjoying life, being happy, wishing that time could stop. If you want to listen to them, you should definitely watch their live version of Fortress from the yt channel Tram Sessions.
I'm sorry that I can't tell you more things about them or my thoughts about their music, but maybe they'll be back in one of my article in the future, when I know them better to talk about them ๐Ÿ˜
