• self care - the practice of taking action to preserve or improve ones mental, physical or emotional health.

I honestly don't have a self care routine but I wanted to share some things that make me feel better/happier.

1. Good Music

I listen to music every single day, in the shower, when I'm bored, while eating and right before I go to sleep, you'll never catch me without earphones tbh. Music really has the ability to improve your your mental wellbeing as it is a form of therapy, it can relax your mind and energise the body, try to listen to music that is positive or that makes you feel better.

Benefits:

  • Elevates mood

2. Skincare

Skincare really does have the power to improve your mood, because when you look good you feel good. When I was going through a tough time the last thing I wanted to do was wash my face and this of course caused acne.

Remember the prevention is easier the correction so find products that work for you & stick to a set routine also have a set shower routine to keep you smelling fresh and to maintain healthy glowy skin.

  • It's an act of kindness
  • Keeps skin healthy

3. Drinking Water & Staying Hydrated

Some of y'all don't drink water & it shows, water does wonders for the skin, don't listen to other people who say it doesn't cause it does. Make sure to drink at least 7-8 cups a day, yes you may need to use the bathroom a lot but water is very good for your organs, it helps them to function properly also helps to flush out toxins.

  • Improve skin complexion

4. Great Food

Good food especially healthy food can make you feel amazing, depression can really affect your appetite & cause bad eating habits but when you eat 3 meals a day + snacks I guarantee it makes you feel so good whilst giving you all the nutrients you need. Also you don't always have to eat healthy, keep it balanced enjoy yourself. Eat Well.

5. Financial Selfcare

Get a job or turn your passion into a business, if you're really good at makeup - do makeup & charge people, can paint well - sell sneakers with paintings on them and ect.

Be responsible with your money don't always blow money just for fun, think to yourself do I really need this? I could save this and invest it into house or a car but also spoil yourself if you really want that Chanel, then buy yourself that Chanel bag.

I've learnt two really good pieces of advice, the first one is spend money knowing that you'll be able to make that money back tomorrow. The second piece of advice is spend money on things that you know ill benefit you in the future, items that you can invest in.

6. Environmental self-care

Recycle as much as you can, you can even make $$$ out of recycling drink cans, they're like 10c each (aud), don't litter, don't be lazy, just take the rubbish to a bin it's really not that difficult like please do better.

Do beach clean ups, I haven't gone to one before but I would like to in the future. Try buying things that are made out of sustainable or recycled material and limit the use of plastic in homes. There are so many other things you can do just do some research.
