1/ Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker

books, novels, and reading image

This is a story about a girl who was drowning in the pain of her shattered life and the boy with a dark past of his own who pulled her out and helped her to breath, to live, and to love again.

"Give me your heart, Kasey. I'll take everything that comes with it."

This book doesn’t ease you in to the story, it just plunges you right in and submerges you in its beautiful and spiraling journey of pain, horrific loss and heart ache, and then it pulls out back up, until you feel the forgiveness and healing the characters have reached.

2/ What's left of me by Amanda Maxlyn

What’s Left Of Me had me at EVERY page! I couldn’t put down my Kindle to eat, to speak with other humans, to sleep until I read to the end. It is such an emotional, yet sexy, fun, and sad read all in one. Because of books like What’s Left of Me is why I LOVE to read and why I LOVE book boyfriends because I have a new one and his name is Parker Jackson… he’s all mine ladies!

"I want all of you, Aundrea. Everything and anything that you will give me. I want it all. I want to be your legs when you can't walk. I want to be your arms when you're too weak to eat. I want to be there for you day and night."

This was Aundrea's journey. Her battle against cancer. Her falling in love for the first time. Her learning to let go and live every day as if it might be her last. Her letting people in to be her strength in times of weakness.

One woman. One battle. One love.

"I am Aundrea McCall, and I am a survivor."

3/ Devastate by Marley Valentine

books, novel, and reading image

From the blurb it's easy to infer where this story is headed and yet I was not prepared. Fortunately there are unexpected heroes and heroines there to lighten the dark element shadowing Evie.

blonde, boy, and break down image

Lior is our hero of the story and the 'light' that Evie didn't know she needed or even wanted. I fell in love with Lior instantly. He was careful with Evie. His patience, kindness and persistence to help Evie heal was just beautiful. He was just perfect.

I'm not going to say too much more as I don't want to spoil anything for you. I will say that Devastate is a beautifully written, tragic story. However, secondary characters bring light and even laughter. There is a happily ever after. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

4/ One final breath by L.K. Collins

Beautiful, heart-breaking, emotional story about loss and grief, about new love and new beginning, about letting go but never forgetting.

I adored the heroine, strong kind woman who lost her young husband on cancer and was left with adorable 5-year-old son.
Alone in grief, alone in pain.
God, I cried every single time her dead husband was mentioned. I admired her strength and how she managed her life, and how she cared for her son.

The hero was amazing. Father of h’s son’s BFF, recently separated from his wife, he loved and cared for his child. He was immediately smitten with the heroine and showed so much patience and understanding I didn’t think a man could do.

This book not only made me feel, I learned a lot from this story.
