With Quentin Tarantino’s 9th Film, Once upon a time in Hollywood has come to the theatres. There has been positive reviews and it’s on 85% in Rotten tomatoes. However there’s one problem and that is the character, Bruce Lee. his daughter, Shannon Lee has criticised Quentin Tarantino for having her father being portrayed as an arrogant person.

“the script treatment of my father as this arrogant, egotistical punching bag was really disheartening -- and, I feel, unnecessary."

His wife and Shannon’s mother, Linda has also said “"I thought the character was like a caricature of himself and made him look stupid, silly and made to be insultingly 'Chinesey.' It strayed so far from the truth of who he was and of any actual encounter he had," Quentin Tarantino has defended his written portrayal for the character by saying Bruce Lee was kind of arrogant and even said that he heard Lee saying that he could’ve beat up Muhammad Ali.I know I have defended Quentin Tarantino as I think at this point I need to say that what Tarantino said about Bruce Lee is false even when it comes to the quote about Muhammad Ali.

Bruce Lee has never said that he could’ve beaten up Muhammad Ali, but even if he did had a fight against the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali would definitely win.
Lee’s former training partner, Dan Inosanto said in an variety fair interview didn’t think Lee was a cocky person. "Maybe he was cocky in as far as martial arts because he was very sure of himself. He was worlds ahead of everyone else. But on a set, he's not gonna show off." Shannon has responded to Tarantino’s comments by saying he should’ve just shut up about it. I actually agree with this because if Tarantino didn’t want to be defensive that he should’ve written Bruce Lee in an accurate way.
