Life is rough for a girl with a high metabolism.

Don't get me wrong, I do love being able to eat anything I want and still maintain a break-even figure, however I do wish I was able to maintain a little more meat on my bones.

My quest to gain weight has been on-going for about 3 years now and I can say that over-eating has benefited my body a bit. Albeit, it hasn't gone to the areas of my where I had like it to go, but it is a start and I'm quite happy with it.

I've tried working out, snacking between meals, and different types of protein bars and powders. Not much progress.

I recently bought this vegan protein powder: Vegan Pure - All in One - Cookies and Cream. I literally bought it because it said "Cookies and Cream" so naturally I couldn't resist. Overall, I must say, in my opinion it was quite gross with its lack of flavour. So I tried something different.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day (hard to believe, I know). Anyways, I decided to make a smoothie out it.

[Disclaimer: I had no idea what I was doing when I made this. It just happened and I'm quite satisfied]

The following is a list of ingredients I used:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5-6 large strawberries
strawberry, fruit, and food image
  • 1 + 1/2 banana(s)
banana, fruit, and gym image
  • IOGO Creamy Vanilla yogurt (any vanilla yogurt will do)
desserts, FRUiTS, and strawberries image
  • 1 scoop of protein power [I used the vegan one listed above]
Temporarily removed
  • 1 spoon of Reese Peanut Butter & Chocolate spread
chocolate, OMG, and peanut butter image
  • Ice [Optional]
hungry, me, and i want food image

I must say, it was not my intention to use this combination of ingredients, but it was quite satisfying and energizing to drink early in the morning.

I felt great.
I felt healthy.
I felt productive.
I felt happy.

And maybe the goal to all this in addition to wanting to gain weight.

Be happy with what you eat and enjoy what you make, even when you're not completely satisfied with all the ingredients on an individual level.

Create.
