Hello everyone! I don’t write articles very often so I apologize if this isn’t too good, but I hope you enjoy it and maybe find a new anime to watch!

This anime is about a girl who wakes up one day finding she has no memories. A spirit appears to her and tells her that the memory loss is his fault and that he will help her to regain her memories. However, just as things seem to be getting better some accident occurs and she wakes up again on August first starting all over again. And to make things even more difficult in each timeline there is another boy in love with her!

My Rating: 7/10

This is one of the first animes I ever watched so it holds a special place in my heart. I loved the mystery and the romance, but some parts were a bit disturbing. I was slightly disappointed in the ending, but the rest of the show kept me on the edge of my seat, and the character design was amazing!

Attack on Titan (Shingeki No Kyojin)

Humanity lives in fear of the titans: man eating humanoid monsters. For a time humans were safe behind walls constructed 100 years before the start of the show, but when an abnormally big titan appears and kicks a hole in the wall, humanity finds itself at the mercy of the titans once again. This anime follows Eren Yeager in his journey to find out for about the titans and how to defeat them.

My Rating: 9/10

Honestly, I think this is my favorite anime. I love all the characters and the plot twists and the mystery. The action and emotion gets me so into it, not to mention the amazing soundtrack. The way they treat the titans in such a scientific manner actually makes me feel smart and I love thinking up theories for what is going to happen next even though I’m usually wrong. I would have given this a 10/10, but some scenes are just a bit too disturbing for me.

Gakkou Gurashi (School-Live!)

anime, gif, and school-live! image

Don’t let the cute characters and catchy opening song fool you, this is actually an anime about a zombie apocalypse. Gakkou Gurashi follows a group of high school girls as the live in their high school during a zombie apocalypse. It also touches on the psychological effect the disaster has on the girls.

My Rating: 8/10

I love survival types of shows, but I can be sensitive to violence, so for me this show was the perfect mix of cute and creepy. Like Attack on Titan, Gakkou Gurashi also has a lot of plot twists that keep me interested in the show. The anime only has one season, but the manga goes much further so if you enjoy the anime I suggest reading the manga.

Ouran High School Host Club

Temporarily removed

Haruhi wins a scholarship to the prestigious Ouran High School, but she doesn’t quite fit in with her being poor and all the other students being filthy rich. One day when looking for a quiet place to study, she stumbles across the host club: a group of attractive high school boys who entertain young women. After being mistaken for a boy and accidentally breaking a very expensive vase she is somehow roped into being a host herself!

My Rating: 9/10

This is the first anime I ever watched and I love it so much. Whenever I’m feeling sad I can count on an episode of Ouran to cheer me up! It is just so funny and cute I never get tired of it. There is a bit of fanservice in it and it is quite girly, so I can understand people not liking it.

Sword Art Online

In the near future video games are so advanced you can actually go inside the games. The first game of this kind is called “Sword Art Online”. 200 players log on when it is first released only to find out that the maker of the game had sinister plans and that they are trapped inside. If they die in the game, they die in real life. If someone in the real world unplugs their VR headset, the die. The only way for them to get out alive is for them to beat the game.

My Rating: 7/10

I thought this was such a cool idea when I first heard about it, but I was disappointed to find out that this plot only takes up half of the first season and the rest of the show explores what happens after and other virtual reality games. Although I still enjoy the rest of the anime, I wish they spent more time in the game Sword Art Online. They were trapped in the game for two years, but they only made half a season about it! Another thing is there is just a bit too much fanservice for me and I think the main character is kind of overpowered. But still I really did enjoy it and I think it’s worth the watch.

Yuki Yuna is a Hero

anime, gif, and japan image

Several teenage girl find themselves being recruited by a god to fight against evil forces. They gain magical powers and are tasked with protecting the world, but there are some secrets the god neglected to tell them about…

My Rating: 9/10

This is the only anime that could possibly tie with Attack on Titan for being my favorite anime. It’s similar to Madoka Magica, but not as depressing. These girl face incredible obstacles, but they still learn to have hope and to survive. And as much as I love bittersweet endings or cliffhanger endings, I can’t help but be a sucker for this happy ending.

Fruit’s Basket (2001)

2001, anime, and cat image

Tohru finds herself homeless after her grandfather says he can’t have her live with him for a while. Instead of staying with friends she keeps her troubles a secret and lives in a tent in the woods. As she walks to school one day she stumble across a house where she finds 3 young men, one of which she goes to school with. When the find out about her situation they insist she lives with them. She discovers that they are in a cursed family and that they all turn into animals of the zodiac when touched by someone of the opposite sex.

My Rating: 8/10

This anime is just so cute, sweet, and funny. Although, I do have to admit I get kind of frustrated with the main character occasionally. This anime is currently being remade and I have only watched a few episodes of it, but I suggest you watch the original. It really is just a nice heartwarming anime to watch when you are feeling down.

Ao Haru Ride

anime, anime girl, and gif image

Futaba Yoshioka wants to fit in at her school, but in doing so she isn’t quite herself. When a boy she knew as a kid moves back to her school, she is inspired to change her personality and not care what others think of her. She makes new friends and along the way tries to reconnect with her old friend.

Ao Haru Ride is a really chill, funny anime. It didn’t stand out to me that much, but it was still fun to watch, although I was a little disappointed in the ending and I wish the anime had gone further. Still, it’s really cute and I think it’s worth the watch.

One Punch Man

anime, gif, and one punch man image

Saitama is a man who can defeat any opponent with just one single punch, no matter what kind of crazy mutant monster it is. Desperate for a real challenge, Saitama searches for an opponent who he can’t defeat in just one punch.

This show is pretty ridiculous. It a good show for when you need to laugh, but overall, it’s just not my cup of tea. Some of the humor, to me, is just kind of stupid or weird and I didn’t like the ending. I personally don’t care for it that much, but I know a lot of people like it a lot, so if it sounds interesting you should watch it.

That's all for now, I hope you enjoyed!
