๐ป๐‘’๐“ƒ๐“๐‘œ ๐’ป๐“‡๐‘’๐“ƒ๐“ˆ, so I missed a few days and if anyone noticed, I am very sorry. I just recently moved into my new place and Iโ€™m still sorting a couple things out, i.e. Wi-Fi. I wonโ€™t have internet for about a week, so here I am sitting in a library on campus utilizing all the free Wi-Fi. Meaning for a whole week Iโ€™ll be commuting to campus for free Wi-Fi, I got to finesse the system somehow. So, donโ€™t mind me as I continue like nothing ever happened.

Now I have listed my mom as No. 1 on a list before, and that is because she deserves to be number one honestly. Like I said, we donโ€™t always see eye to eye, but that doesnโ€™t change the fact that sheโ€™s a real G. This woman raised me the best she could, with the all she could manage. Working hard every single day, just so I could live comfortably. From teaching me simple life tasks such as cooking to things as big as helping me pay for my tuition. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d be where I am if it wasnโ€™t for her opening doors, and supporting me along the way.

Did I mention I only had 3 best friends? Well if I didnโ€™t, I am now. If I were to categorize each of my friends, one would be the crazy friend who is often way too loud for her own good, the sarcastic friend who will verbally assassinate you if youโ€™re not careful, and the stressed friend who is screaming internally 99.9% of the time. Anyhow, each of my friends are so different from one another, and I wouldnโ€™t change anything if I could.

Listen, my old art teacher gets a lot of flak from students that she really doesnโ€™t deserve. Sheโ€™s the one that had so much faith in me and my skills as an artist, pushing me to continue art, especially through a point where I really started hating it. Staying after school to help me with assignments, going out of her way to buy more supplies for my art projects, being supportive of her students in and out of class, also bringing doughnuts to class (this isnโ€™t as big as the others, but those doughnuts were good my dudes). She really is an amazing teacher, and Iโ€™m glad I can say I was one of her students.

Hehe, so when everyone was applying to universities, talking about what they wanted to do in post-secondary, I sat at my desk trying to tune out the world, because I had no idea what I genuinely wanted to do. However, I did know attending university was something I really wanted to do. I went to a variety of open houses, hugged an interesting looking mascot (I think it might have been a ram, I blocked out the memory tbh), and talked to advisors until finally applying to my first choice. Now Iโ€™m attending university as an English major, meeting new people, learning new things, and having fun (excluding exam season).

I am by no means a musical genius; I canโ€™t play any instrument at all. I donโ€™t even how to play my recorder from the fourth grade anymore, a dang recorder. Despite being musically incompetent, music has been a big part of my life. Dancing to the radio in my room as a small kid, borrowing (occasionally stealing) my older sisterโ€™s iPod, being forced to listen to my momโ€™s gospel music, watching my parents dance to traditional African songs, and finally being able to buy and download my own music. Music is one of those things that is so deeply integrated into who I am and continues to be exactly that. Life without it would music be excruciatingly dull.
