» Hello Guys! «

And welcome to July's book article! July has been a good month for me, I actually turned 18 and i'm still trying to wrap my head around how that's possible, I was also able to read 21 books this month and only one book that i rated below a 3 star so that's pretty great!
Also I made aesthetic collections for some of the books I read this month so I will be adding Them under the tittles and my normal aesthetics!

Sadie White's summer isn't going to look like any other high school aged kid on the Alabama coast, she won't be a life guard, she won't be renting out surf boards or wet suits to tourists, instead when her pregnant mother claims she can no longer work as a domestic servant for a family on nearby island, knowing that one of them has to work Sadie goes in her stead. the house doesn't belong to just anyone it belongs to the one and only rock star Jax Stone. if Sadie hadn't been forced to become a adult perhaps she'd find it exciting, she may not be impressed with his fame Jax is drawn to her, she fascinates him but he knows that she deserves better and he knows she doesn't want the kind of life he offers, but what happens when summer ends and they find out they can't Breathe without each other?

This book was such a colossal disappointment for me I had seen good things about this series (The Sea Breeze series this was book one) and just the fact that this is a companion novel series drew me to it in the first place but ugh I was so annoyed at everything about this book, the main character was as dry and boring as hell not a damn thing about this book felt real and the amount of cheese was unforgivable and the way the characters spoke was ridiculous so melodramatic and way to mature for teenagers honestly the way they talked is best described as 'posh' like 'royalty' like it was so weird for modern teens. I definitely don't recommend this one. I am also trying to decide if I should give up on this author or not, but maybe one book shouldn't form my opinion on the author.

A Nordic King.

When Aurora first applied for this job she figured it be like any other job she'd taken as a nanny even though this was the first time it was for royal children but how much different could it be from her other jobs? yeah she couldn't have been more wrong. her new home is now the royal palace in Copenhagen, she has to find a way to help the young princesses deal with the loss of their mother while not trying to replace her, and she also has to deal with the girl's brooding father King Aksel of Denmark who happens to be the most dashing man Aurora has ever seen to bad he's completely off limits, even if he wasn't he doesn't seem to want anything to do with Aurora.
Axsel has been living with his guilt over his wife and he's been subconsciously pushing his little girls away that is until the new young smart mouth nanny informs him of his mistakes even for all her short comings he can't replace her not after the girls refused any other candidate. but what happens when this beautiful fiery nanny worms her way into his thoughts Aksel hopes Aurora never leaves not just for the girls sake but also for his own?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! So normally romance books with kids in them are not really my thing because normally I just don't like when its not done well, but this was done amazingly ahhh! I just loved the relationships between the girls and Aurora and between Aurora and Aksel and all of them together was so adorable wow this was such a cute refreshing read I loved it deserves all 5 stars, not to mention it was dual point of view which if you have read my other articles you would know I adore.

The Royally Series.

What would you do if a hot prince walked into your coffee shop? would you bow? would you try not fangirl? well whatever you did you probably wouldn't throw a pie in his face, well that's what Olivia Hammond did. Of course she didn't actually know he was a prince how could she when she spends every day elbow deep in pies behind a Manhattan coffee shop counter, then again she probably would've done it anyway after all prince or not he acted like a asshole so she treated him like such.
The night Prince Nicholas of Wessco walked into that Manhattan coffee shop and spotted the sassy dark haired beauty that is Olivia Hammond the last thing he expected was to have a pie shoved into his face along with a few stinging remarks but now all he can think about is if Olivia tastes as good as her pie and if her uses that sassy mouth in bed.

So I may have made my synopsis sound a lil sexual but don't worry there is a lot more to these books then just sex and I absolutely loved this companion novel series (meaning each book is about a different set of characters while all being connected) my favorites were book one ^ and book two called Royally Matched about Nicholas's brother. this series was done pretty well and I really appreciated that all the girls had a lot of interest and none of them fell flat especially since they where all unique and different from each other. also it was dual point of view!

The Selection Series.

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
America didn't want this, she didn't want Maxon, she doesn't want the crown. She wanted her simple life with her family, music, and to marry Aspen the boy she loves even though he belongs to a caste below her own, it was Aspen himself who convinced her to put her name in the Selection saying she deserved a chance at royalty knowing it would plague him with guilt if she missed this opportunity because of him, so she begrudgingly puts her name in.
But now the impossible has happened and here she is at the royal palace with 34 other girls who are fiercely competing for Maxon and his attentions all while trying to survive violent rebel attacks, she doesn't want to do this but she can't leave yet not after how things ended with Aspen. but how to get Maxon to keep her for just a little while?

This is actually the second time I've read the Selection series and I still like the series a lot but I actually have a few things I noticed more this second time around I don't like about it for one America and Maxon it just really doesn't feel like this epic romance it's made out to be. The two lie to each other and they fight like ALL the time and ya know what that's fine argue all you like, but come to a agreement or apologize and move on, all they do is fight and then walk away before they solve their issues so they are left to stew and stress over things until one of them gets some sense and apologizes or the truth comes out. this is not healthy okay you have to talk things out in the moment. part of their problem is America is rash and naive and so stubborn. but beyond that I've always liked these books the story line is good and so are most of the characters.

The Summer Of Chasing Mermaids.

Elyse d'Abreau was destined for stardom - until a boating accident took everything from her. Now, the most beautiful singer in Tobago can't sing. She can't even speak. seeking solitude from her grandmother, dad, and her 5 sisters she gratefully accepts a invitation to Atargatis Cove a small coastal town in Oregon, that couldn't be more different from her home in the Caribbean the Water is to cold to swim, the parties to tame to sing, and the people are to polite to pry into her past, well all except one. Christian Kane the known seaside charmer is the only person who doesn't treat Elyse like she's fragile glass, instead he pushes her to be who she is and express herself whether or not she can speak . Elyse also forges a friendship with Christians little brother Sebastian who is convinced that Elyse is a mermaid who keeps her voice hidden in her seashell necklace.
The towns annual Pirate Regatta is coming and Christian needs a first mate. Can Elyse put aside her past and her fear of the ocean to help out her new friend? Can she figure out who she is as person even if her life has changed course?

This was such a pretty book! And by pretty I mean it had this poetry feel to it since she can't speak so much of Eylse's conversation was in her head or written out it that was really artsy feeling since her talent as a singer/song writer she has a gift with words that was pretty stunning. It also had a fantasy vibe to it as in a the point that she truly confronts her past is while being underwater talking to a mermaid but it ends up feeling less weird then it sounds and just feels kinda whimsical. It's maybe a tad dramatic at times, but over all I really enjoyed it! (I should also mention that i almost gave up on this before I even finished the first chapter because i was like huh a little wordy maybe this isn't my thing? I am so glad I kept reading omg!)

26 year old Dandelion "Dani" is still a virgin the biggest reason that is true is because she's been to busy running her family's flower shop and winning floral design competitions. her virginity had never seemed like a big deal, until Jacob West came back to town. as a little kid he was her friend who would pull up Dandelions with her behind the school, then as a teen he was her crush all through high school, well all up until the night he stood her up for prom, then he was no longer her friend much less her crush. And now he's back in town to take over his family's flower shop making Jacob her enemy. except are enemies normally this hot? and do they always flirt like Jacobs doing?

This was definitely a cute quirky little read I am pretty sure it was under 200 pages making it not feel like it was dragging, going in I wasn't to sure of what to expect but it was funny and adorable and sweet with plenty of little dramas and banter to keep it interesting. I rated it at 3 stars and 3 stars for me means it was good considering I liked it I might have given it 4 stars but it can just be kinda hard for me to give a book that extra star when its mostly fluff rather then substance. that being said there are two more books one just published then next coming soon each based on one of Dani's sisters who both seemed like really good characters meaning I am looking forward to them.

The Unhoneymooners.

Olives twin sister is getting married yeah lucky her, oh when i say lucky her i mean that literally Ami is actually the luckiest person need to win a contest? or maybe the lottery? yeah call Ami. But Olive didn't get any of that lucky gene instead she's gonna have to suffer through this wedding with her least favorite human Ethan the grooms brother as in yeah he's the best man, yeah lucky that. So now to suffer through this wedding, except she's not the one who ends up suffering but neither is Ethan. Why is that? Oh that's because the sea food buffet was contaminated, as in everyone has food poising, yeah including the bride and groom. but thanks to Olives Shell fish allergy she didn't partake neither did Ethan his weird fear of buffets coming in handy this time. but what about the non-refundable honeymoon to Hawaii? well if Ami can't take it she insists that Olive go in her place and bring Ethan along. can Olive and Ethan put aside their differences and enjoy a free vacation?

Okay so fist off this was one of the funniest books I've ever read the laughs like I laughed out loud multiple times, which is good because beyond the laughs I didn't like this book as i wanted too, but as far as couples go I didn't love these two together and i didn't like them separately very much either whoops, I felt like Ethan switched personalty mid-book which annoyed me, I wish this book was in Ethan's point of view as well as Olives it might have made Ethan's character feel smoother. what I did like about this was for one they was in Hawaii like yes beautiful tropics beaches sunrises and sunsets, also there was this massage scene that was just great.

The Locker Room.

So there is this rumor on campus about the baseball locker room. What is that rumor you ask? Well supposedly if you invite a girl to this sacred place it will end in marriage, that's right bring a girl into the magical place for some fun and that girl will be your wife. if you couldn't tell baseball players are stupidly superstitious. Emory just got out of a relationship that ended terribly for her as in her ex of 6 years cheated, she didn't think she was ready for someone new but somehow, Baseball player Knox Gentry is wiggling his way into her world, and she can’t seem to shake him…not that she really wants to. The darkness that clouded her heart after her ex has faded, and her soul is starting to feel again could Knox be her second shot at love? Maybe she'll even get a invitation to the magical locker room.

OKAY this book was great like it was funny smooth sexy and over all great UNTIL like 80% into it when the author threw a huge curveball ( Baseball Pun Intended) and like lets just say I was dead like in a kinda good way but still shook and when I say I hated it I meanthat in the best way because like it was a real thing like how actual relationships can be i'm trying not to spoil anything so that's why I sound like a crazy person but I hope I got my point across. anyways I really recommend this book if you like sport romances like Off Campus!

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

(Thanks goodreads for that for some reason i just couldn't come up with my own synopsis for this one whoops)
So this book got three stars from me it would have gotten more but a few parts of it felt odd to me like normally odd is fine but the fact that she refers to her inability to orgasm as "the loss of O" and she talks to this "missing O" and its a tad weird, but other then that I totally enjoyed this funny sexy read, plus I adore the Simon like i just love that name. also it's the first in a set of companion novels all named after cocktails so maybe i'll read them sometime.

The Chase.

Opposites attract right? Well they must otherwise Summer Di Laurentis wouldn't be attracted to Colin Fitzgerald since tattooed/hockey player/video gamer nerd isn't normally Summers type but there is something about the quite hunky nerd that has Summer wanting to know more. Well that is until she over hears him tell his friend that he thinks she isn't interested in anything but shopping and has a head full of "fluff". Colin doesn't understand why he's attracted to this flighty blonde ball of energy she couldn't be more different from his laid back introverted self, instead she thrives off drama and loves people. but either way he still likes her, even though if he was trying to convince himself and his friend that he doesn't saying that she's nothing more then "fluff" even if that's anything but true. Now with unresolved feelings the two are about to shoved into each others space, as in they have to be roommates.

The Risk.

Red lipstick is Brenna Jensen's armor it helps her feel empowered, it also helps the bad ass/ bad girl vibes she likes to throw around. And ya know maybe she is a bad girl but even a bad girl has a line she won't cross. That line happens to be sleeping with the enemy and by enemy I mean Jake Connelly the caption of the Harvard Hockey team a rival of Brair University who Brenna's dad just happens to be the coach of. not to mention that Brenna can't stand Jake and his pompous ass no matter how beautiful his face may be. Except now she needs his help to get the internship of her dreams the question is will he agree to be her fake date? if Brenna Jensen wants a fake date then in return Jake wants a real one. Maybe he can prove that Harvard Hockey players aren't so bad.

So this is actually the second time I've read these books and let be just say I adore Elle Kennedy her writing is some of my favorite she wrote the Off Campus series which this series is a spin off of and I love both so much ahh if you wanna see me talk about the Off Campus series check out either my March or my May book articles. also I previously read these two in April (all of my other book articles are linked below) but just know I love both of these series and i can;t recommend them enough! also i can't wait till the 3rd book comes out this fall I am so excited!

Her Royal Highness.

What Would you do if you saw your sorta friend/girlfriend kissing her supposed ex? Would you finally take that plunge and apply for financial aid to the boarding school of your dreams that's across the globe in Scotland? Well that's what Millie did to escape her personal drama and now she's ready to start her final year of school in the drama free highlands of Scotland. Except so far it's been anything but drama free I mean how can it be when your roommate is Her Royal Highness Princess Flora of Scotland? She also happens to be one of the most self centered people Millie has ever met she clearly doesn't get that her actions have consequences that affect other people. But after they are stranded together in the highlands the two start to see eye-to-eye and the enemies become friends. But what happens when you start to have real feelings for a princess? I mean fairy tale endings aren't real. Right?

Ahhh I really really liked this book I mean not only was in Gay (my bisexual heart happy!) but it takes place in freaking Scotland like yes bring on the kilts, the mists, and the rolling green highlands! it truly paints a beautiful picture, particularly the fact that Millie wanted to be a geologist like that is not only really unique but also helped with the whole pretty landscape vibe I loved. the banter and jabs that these two throw around were great I absolutely loved there relationship through the whole book. also apparently this is actually a sequel to Royals which is about two other characters (Heterosexual I believe) that we get to see in this book so I guess I have to go back and read the first book, also i'm amusing there could be a sequel about Flora's reckless twin brother who's character i really liked! so who knows I guess we'll find out!

That's all for May! I hope you guys liked this article don't forget to heart it and leave a reaction!
Happy Reading!
