Hello! I am back again with more film reviews. These are some of the films I watched in the month of July. I rate them from a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 obviously the best). There also may be some spoilers!

Rosemary's Baby
Rating: 8.5/10

I really, really liked this film. I was a bit skeptical about it first because I didn't know how good or bad the film was. Sometimes older movies can be a hit or miss for me. But after watching it I was really pleased with it.

Rosemary's Baby is about a women named Rosemary and her husband Guy. They move into an apartment in Manhattan, and after getting settled in Rosemary wants to start a family. After a weird "dream" Rosemary finds out the good news of her pregnancy. Along the way she finds out more and more about witchcraft and her strange nosy neighbors.

The thing I like about this film is that it's actually scary. Well it's not like 'keep me up at night scary' but like realistic scary. I love horror movies like this that have a realistic scare to them. I like films like this where it's more realistic than a fictional story of some ghost haunting a house, because you can actually picture yourself more into the plot.

The thing that scared me about this film is how Rosemary didn't even feel safe in her own home due to her neighbors. Your home is supposed to be your safe heaven. In some parts of the film Rosemary didn't even feel safe around Guy, a person who it supposed to make her feel safe no matter what. I think something that really scared me however, was how Rosemary tried to get help but everyone thought she was crazy.

The thought of that is somewhat terrifying to me because if I were in a situation like that and no one would believe me I would go crazy as well.

Something that I didn't like about his film is how Rosemary was not independent enough. She listened to so many people, and went with everyone's advice instead of going with her gut feeling. And in the end when she finally went with her gut it was too late.

But overall, I enjoyed this film a lot and highly recommend it if you love classic horror movies.

Rating: 8.5/10

thirteen, grunge, and movie image thirteen, movie, and 13 image

This movie is such a good movie. It's about a young girl named Tracy who is thirteen. Tracy wants to be friends with a cool popular girl named Evie and at first tries really hard to hang out with her. Once they become really close Evie shows Tracy the world of sex, drugs, and theft. As Tracy's and Evie's friendship get closer however, Tracy grows further and further away from her true friends and family.

There are a lot of things I like about this move. The first thing I noticed is how the camera work is really cool in some scenes. Like it reminds of music videos where they zoom in a lot and the background is kind of blurry. It's sort of hard to explain but if you watch or have watched this film you'll understand. I thought it was really cool and fit in with the early 2000's theme.

This film can get pretty heavy and emotional at times. But that's what being a teenager is all about. You have your highs and lows, and this movie shows a lot of examples of this. Thirteen also shows how people can have an affect on other people.

Before befriending Evie, Tracy was an innocent girl. But after hanging out with her for a couple of days Tracy's personality changed towards others. And it's not Evie's fault for acting like this. Her cousin, Brooke, kind of built Evie as this due to her lack of caring for her.

The fashion was also really great in this film. I love when characters have iconic outfits, because it gives me lots of inspo for my own looks. I think Evie and Tracy both had some really good fits throughout the film.

The final thing I have to note about this film is how good the actress Nikki Reed did on this film. I knew her face looked familiar while watching the film, and I was surprised to find out she was actually in the Twilight series. I think she deserves way more credit on her acting because in this film she was amazing.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 & 2
Rating: 9/10

This is my first Quentin Tarantino film I've ever watched. So many people praise his films, so I thought I'd watch one. Kill Bill is about assassin named Beatrix Kiddo seeking revenge on The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after almost being killed the day before her wedding.

At first I didn't think I would really like this film because action movies sometimes bore me. But I absolutely loved this one. I never got bored of the first movie and kept wanting to see what would happen next. As for volume 2 I personally didn't really like the beginning of the movie all too much. I felt it was somewhat slow but still very important.

In volume 1 I love the 'aesthetic' is best I could describe the scenes. Like the black and white fighting scenes. I especially loved the blue and black fighting scene, it made the battle look so much more cooler and memerable.

I really liked how in the first volume it centers around Japan because half of the movie does take place there. I love the Japanese and martial art influence this film had.

Beatrix is now my favorite character from a movie. She is such a badass but still cares about people. I love how determined she is in getting revenge, and goes through hell for it. Like in volume 2 when she was going to get buried alive but punched her way out. Most people would have given up. I love all her battle scenes, and I give lots of credit to Uma Thurman for training hard in the making of this film. As badass as she is, she again cares for people. Like in volume 1 she didn't kill the little boy and let him go in the black and blue fighting scenes. And in volume 2 when she put the long awaited death of Bill to the side to be with her daughter. She really cares for her daughter as all this revenge was mainly for her.

The only problem I had was that I missed lots of parts when they were in Japanese. The original movie might have actual subtitles but unfortunately the site I was on didn't provide subtitles, so I didn't understand what they were saying. But this is more of my fault then the actual movie.

Overall, I highly recommend this movie. And if you want to get into the world of Tarantino movies, I would defiantly start with these two.
