What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to
Freely deciding to waste my time,
To mock the clock and call it names,
Because I do not plan,
On going according to plan.
I don’t intend on following a set of rules.
There will be parties and drinking,
Wasted time and no thinking,
Because I’ve lived a sheltered,
Lovely life for too long.

I love it in the comfort and decency,
But sometimes it irritates me,
Because it remains the same,
Over and over and over again.

I’m looking forward to,
A morning dose of nothing,
Then to work the day into something.
I want to stray away and not be scolded.
I want a mysterious man,
My hand to be held.
I desire an adventure searching for answers.
A stagnant life offers no such thing.

I love it in the way it’s quiet yet so loud,
But somehow it makes me lash out,
Because I need something that’s not routine.
Like the wind and river I long to flow and drift with nature,
Journey to places unknown,
And to discover that this is who I am, and who I was all along.
To take peace in the understanding,
I can choose this happiness in doing what I love.
That is what I look forward to.
