Hey everyone, I realised i haven't written an article in what seems like forever but I had a really long shift at work today and got inspired to write this. I have worked at Lovisa for 8 months now. It's is a jewellery brand based in Australia but we also have stores in New Zealand, Asia, Eastern Europe and America. My role is a stylist so I spend all my time there styling jewellery for events and things like that.

In this article I'll write about how to layer necklaces, earring stacks, simple jewellery, how to style statement pieces, colour combinations, best metal for your skin tone and matching jewellery to face shapes.

One of the things I love about necklaces is how versatile they can be. My number one tip when layering necklaces is to have some simple chains at your disposal and to not be afraid to try something new! Personally, I think 3 is the magic number. I always wear a choker, a mid-length necklace and something a bit longer to add depth.

Tips: - mix different textures, thicknesses and styles - simple necklaces can be stepped up just by adding a plain choker or another longer necklace - don't be afraid to add more or take away, try out new styles until you find what you love

My next favourite thing to style no doubt is earring stacks. When you have two or three piercings on each ear, the possibilities and combinations are endless. My biggest tips are don't be afraid, always keep essentials and match each earring with the next. Ear packs are your best friends as they always match and the hard work is done for you.

1. don't be afraid to mix colours, look how cute these look! 2. every girl should have sterling silver diamonds in three sizes. They are super simple, you can wear them all the time, they're versatile and they last for ages. 3. two different hoops with a stud are so cute and even though they're all very different pieces, they still match together. 4. They're all different but at the same time they match so well!

I love simple jewellery. Things like essentials that basically go with everything. I have another article linked below that includes my jewellery essentials but I'll list a few here.

So many people are scared of wearing statement pieces but personally I love to wear them. They can be a bit daunting at first but start with a pair of big hoops and work your way up from there. There is a large range of statement pieces and they can be called statement because of anything from colour to size to how abnormal they are. The key with statement pieces is for everything else to be minimal. For example, when wearing a statement necklace, wear simple earrings of the same metal r when wearing a statement earring in your firsts, wear simple earrings in your other piercings and wear one or two necklaces so as not to take away from the look.

A lot of people come in asking what colour jewellery they should wear with the colour they're wearing. Here's all you need to know:
white - anything except black
black - Anything except white and gunmetal grey, for a warmer tone avoid silver.
grey - gold
red - gold
orange - gold
yellow - gold
green - gold or silver depending on the tone
pale blue - gold, silver, rose gold
navy blue - gold or rose gold, can use silver depending on skin tone and style of shirt/dress
purple - silver
pale pink - gold
hot pink - gold

Many people already know what metal best matches their skin tone because it's what they're used to wearing and generally what they gravitate towards. For very pale people, rose gold tends to work best. For people with cool undertones, silver tends to work better than gold. For people with warm undertones, gold works best. For darker skinned people, gold usually looks best.
A quick way to see your undertones is to look at your veins. If they appear more green then you have a warmer undertone, if they appear blue/purple you have cool undertones. The link below helps you to further understand your undertones.

Finally, matching jewellery to face shapes can really make or break how you look. I've attached my article about the right jewellery for your face shape💞

That's the end for now. I might make a part 2 of this article if it goes well but since it's 2:16am I should probably go to sleep😴 If you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed reading and got something out of this💞If you want to see more of my jewellery inspiration, I've linked my collection below x
