Skincare is a very popular topic nowadays and with the endless possibilities in brands and products, it`s very easy to get confused with what you need and how to choose.

I know. I`ve been there too, buying products that are being advertised a lot or because I don`t have a lot of money at the moment, I bought something really cheap. I`m not throwing shade on products that aren`t highend because there are good products that are really affordable and works great!


There are 4 skin types:

  • normal
  • oily
  • dry

This is the first step on choosing your products. Of course it`s better to go to a certified cosmetician who will tell you everything you need to know about your skin, but you can find out your skin type on your own as well.

Yes, scrubs are important for your skincare *BUT DO NOT USE THEM EVERY DAY EVEN THOUGH ON THE PACKAGE IT`S WRITTEN "DAILY"!*😱🤦‍♀️

Optimal use is 1-2 times a week and no more because they are abrasive and can cause damage to your skin if you scrub your delicate skin harshly or often. There are scrubs for every skin type so you can find the best one for you easily. Also too much scrubbing or too abrasive scrubs can make your skin produce even more oils and that way you can end up with oily skin and more breakouts. You have to carefully examine your skin before scrubbing because sometimes it`s enough to use scrub only once a week.

Toner is a must to balance your skin`s pH. There are lots of toners from lots of brands but I recommend to use more on the natural side because on daily basis our skins are exposed lots of chemicals already. You should use it before sleep and before applying any makeup products.

Again you have to choose one for your skin type. Why?

  • normal skin`s pH is 5,5 - 5,7
  • oily skin`s pH is more on the acidic side so you need toner that is more on the basic side
  • dry skin`s pH is more on the basic side so you need toner that is more on the acidic side

The goal is to make your skin`s pH closer to normal so it`s not stressed

Whether it`s day cream with SPF or makeup product with SPF. It must be used even in winter even if the sun isn`t that visible - I recommend SPF 15 - 20. During summer it must be 20 and higher. I can guarantee you don`t want your skin to age prematurely. This also includes lip balms with SPF 😉

It doesn`t matter if you have oily skin - you need to moisturize too! Yes, your skin can be oily but dehydrated! For night you should choose richer creams so during the night you skin can absorb everything it needs. Also these can be some oils - you just need to find works best for you!

P.S. Keep in mind that not always the most priciest products are the best and cheapest are the worst. Look somewhere in the middle of the price range and don`t be afraid to ask for help to consultants - that`s why they are there for.
