Hi beauties! It’s Ale and today I wanted to tackle a topic many of us know all too well. Summer time can be lots of fun with traveling, working, taking some classes, doing new things, exploring, and festivals! But, I also tend to feel very anxious during this time of the year. Sometimes I feel shaky, lost, nervous, and just not my best. So, today I wanted to share some things I do to calm my anxiety, and get back into the summer vibe!

1 | Dedicate your mind to one particular activity

Write on a journal, paint whatever comes to mind, cook, bake, or count every yellow car you see passing your window! Do one thing at a time, and focus your mind on that specific activity. This helps with centering your mind, and grounding yourself in the present as to not feel lost or overwhelmed by everything around you.

2 | Movies, Snacks, Friends, and Self care

Surround yourself with the things and people that make you feel good. Binge watch your favorite films (or series), prepare delicious snacks, invite your friends over (or vice versa), but most importantly dedicate time to yourself! Take a hot bubble bath, use some bath salts, do some face masks, and hair treatments! Look as good as you want feel, it helps with your confidence and calming those racing thoughts.

3 | Breathe

It really does help to simply lie down in a comfortable space, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. You can also try to focus on all of your other senses. Focus on your tact, interchange touching all your fingers to your thumb or open & close your hands into fists. Focus on your taste, chew some gum or a soft mint, maybe some chocolate or simply swallow a few times per minute. Focus on your sound perception, what do you hear around you? or maybe you want to listen to some relaxing music. This is one of the best exercises for grounding yourself, calming your nerves, and awakening your senses.
