We all feel down at times. It is normal. Life comes with its highs and lows. This unpredictability may make some of us ( including me) anxious about how we are going to be feeling five minutes, half an hour or so on from now. But the secret is to allow whatever you are feeling at the moment. When you are feeling great, honor that, be grateful for that feeling instead of fearing your next low. On the other hand, when you are feeling low don't get frustrated. It is easier said than done, but the best way to get out of a bad day or even a bad period is to allow it to be. This doesn't mean you do nothing about it, far from it but it means not to come from a place of anger and frustration towards whatever you are feeling. The following are 3 ways you can turn your bad mood around I hope this will help at least one of you.

Tip 1: REST

Sometimes feeling low is a way for our body to tell us we need to stop and rest. At times when you are feeling low, it is wise to give your body, mind and spirit, time to just be and do nothing. This could involve sleeping in, taking a mid-day nap, taking a day off work, meditating, etc. Do whatever makes you feel rested - this will be a game changer and if you start resting more often you will start having fewer periods where you feel unmotivated because your body doesn't need to nudge you into resting. Like everything else in life, balance is key. That is you can't just decide to rest and do nothing until you feel better. You need to take action.

So now that we rested let's move on to the action with tips 2 and 3

Tip 2: MOVE your Body

There is something magical about exercising your body. It is one of the fastest ways to increase your endorphins and these bind onto receptors in your brain that makes you happy. I know sometimes when you are feeling low, ex is the last thing on your mind but believe me what exercise can do is nothing short of magical. Get up and start moving, find that last bit of willpower( I know you have some in there) and use it to move. You don't have to do anything too strenuous. A couple of stretches or a short walk can do the trick. I tend to prefer some intense cardio but this is up to you. Experiment with different forms of movement and find which one releases those endorphins for you.

Tip 3: Surround yourself with people that feel like sunshine

No man is an island and sometimes it is our lack of human interaction that might make us feel sad and depressed especially if you are someone that works from home. So what I suggest is to spend some time with positive people. These could be your family members, your friends, your significant other or even your favorite you tuber. Yes, you heard me right if you are currently alone and you feel like there are no positive uplifting people around think again. Youtube is filled with positive content creators like Kalyn Nicholson who can inspire you to live your best life. You can also follow inspirational people on we heart it. Despite this, I think it is still very important to have more face to face interactions. I know this might be difficult for some of you but you know what it is time to get outside your comfort zone. I know that place is quite terrifying but believe me it is where your life begins. It will feel uncomfortable at first especially if you are rather timid and shy but don't let that stop you. I used to be the shyest kid you could imagine, but I knew I could overcome that and I did. Now I have several friends and feel more confident than ever before. This will not happen overnight but be patient with yourself and trust the process. You will get there, believe me, if I could do it, why not you?
