DAY ONE: WARDROBE

Take all your clothes out of your wardrobe and sort them in three piles:

  • To keep

Only keep clothes you really love, not just for later, because you definetly are going to wear it (but you didn't for an entire year). Don't hold on to clothes you don't fit now but you think you will one day, or clothes you've just bought but you are not happy with. Give it away and make sure not to make the same mistake next time.

  • To give to a friend or familymember
  • To donate

Put them in a bag and throw it in a textile container. If you don't have one of those close to you, give your clothes to a thriftstore. NEVER just throw them away!!

DAY TWO: BEAUTY SUPPLIES

Getting rid of bathroom items should be fairly straightforward. Basically you’re looking for things like expired hygiene products, old toothbrushes, dried up nail polish, etc. Get rid of anything you don’t use or anything that’s just plain trash, and consider doing a quick and easy bathroom drawer makeover afterward using some drawer organizers and drawer liners.

DAY THREE: BOOKS AND MAGAZINES

Take out all your books and magazines and sort them:

  • To keep

For this, you got to be very strict. Keep in mind you can always borrow books from the library. Only keep your favorites. Also, don't keep old children books because you liked them so much when you were seven. Sure, it's a good memory, but don't you think an actual kid of seven would enjoy them more?

  • To give away

Give them to friends, family members, the children you babysit, neighbours with little children or a thriftstore.

DAY FOUR: YOUR PHONE AND COMPUTER

  • Remove old or blurry photos
  • Unsubscribe from spam on your e-mail
  • Remove all the alarms that you don't use on your time app
  • Apps you barely use
  • Move a cluttered desktop into one folder
  • Go through all documents on your computer

AFTERWARDS

decor, interior, and minimal image

Now you finally organised your bed- and bathroom, don't let new stuff come in too easily. Before you buy something, ask yourself:

  • Do I really need this?
  • Will I really give up my minimalist home for this?
  • Is it produced ecofriendly?

And, at last, always apply the rule: Quality over Quantity!

Good luck and have fun changing your lifestyle!
