This post is for me more than anything, but I really hope it can help someone who has the kind of mindset I do, and hopefully bring a bit of positivity to anyone who has the end of year blues. Hope you enjoy it :)

The end of the year is about a week away, and then we can officially be done with 2018. Personally, a lot of huge things happened to me in 2018, and it wasn't all bad, but it definitely wasn't easy. Big changes happened, and I still don't know how to feel about some of them. But one thing I do know is I need to change my mindset going into this new year. I say this every year. But instead of assuming every year is going to be worse than the last, I want to think of it as a whole new time for new opportunities. Who says they just HAVE to be bad? Why do we only notice the bad things that happened, and never the stuff that was pretty cool? Maybe instead of thinking that a new semester brings harder classes and more opportunity to fail, think of it as one step closer to reaching a new goal, and a whole new chance to make new friends or improve your grades. Instead of thinking that another year, another heartbreak waiting to happen, think that maybe THAT person will finally come into your life. You literally don't know. This Christmas you could be spending it single and alone, the next you could be spending it with someone you never thought you would meet. Think of every year as a new path. Remember those books when you were a kid, and it was like a make your own story type of thing? Well, you made a certain set of choices this year. Try out different ones for this next year! Get that tutor. Sign up for that class. Apply for that job. Text that person back. Visit that place. Save up and get that thing you've been wanting. Don't get so offended anymore. Don't take everything to heart, but be more observant. Don't assume so much. Be a person you wish someone would be to you, but always be aware of your limit. You can do it. I can do it.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, and I hope you all have a great New Year! Let's make it a great year :)
