for this day's writing challenge I want to share 5 ways, which could help you in releasing stress. I know that many people are very stressed nowadays, myself included, so I thought that this would be a good idea. Disclaimer: I'm not a psychologist. Things that effectively work for me, might not as effectively work for you. Enjoy! ;)

1. Exercise
Through exercise you can release physical and mental stress. Exercising regularly brings the biggest advantage. Exercise lowers stress hormones e.g. cortisol. It also helps to release endorphins. It can improve sleep quality and you could feel more confident in your body.

2. Write down what you're thinking
Keeping notes about what you're stressed about could help you release those things and actually reflect on them in a longer run. Moreover, you can write down things that you're grateful for, which will help you focus on the positives in your life.

3. Spend time with your family and friends
Social support coming from people, that you are close to could help you get through tough times. Being a part of a social group gives a sense of belonging and self-worth.

4. Deep breathing
Due to mental stress, the body reacts in ways such as a faster heartbeat, faster breathing and constricted blood vessels. Deep breathing exercises could help you to relax- slow down your heartbeat and breathing.

5. Avoid procrastination
Another way to take control of your stress is to stay on top of your priorities and stop procrastinating. Procrastination can lead you to act reactively, leaving you struggling to catch up. This could cause stress, which negatively influences your health and sleep quality.
