Rhett's room

I ran to Rhett's room and knocked frantically on his door. Tears were streaming down my face and I let them. I didn't care. I felt heartbroken and I wanted it to show. He opened the door a few seconds later and I hugged him. I didn't care if he had a girl in there. I needed my brother. "Mom's dead," I sobbed. "No.....no no no," he said. He hugged me back and I cried harder.

"Guess we're not gonna bang with all this crying going on," I heard a girl's voice say. Insensitive and disrespectful. You deserve better, Rhett. I didn't even turn around to look at her. This wasn't the right time. Rhett turned to face the girl. "You can go," he told her. We both felt the coldness in his words. She rolled her eyes, and got out of his bed. She grabbed her shoes and jeans and walked out in a too big tshirt. I shook my head and wiped my face. I looked up at Rhett and his eyes were pink. He was crying, too. "How did you find out?" he asked. "Dad. He called. He said we don't have to come home, but I think we should," I explained. "Yeah...we should," Rhett said, taking a seat on his bed. "Who did it?" Rhett asked. "It was a hit and run....assuming from Cora's clan," I said. "They stole Suri and now they killed our mom...it's the beginning of more tragedies," Rhett said, looking down at the floor. He wasn't wrong.
