Hello again, lovelies!

Welcome to the second article of my Soul Sparks series. I want to start off by thanking you all for continuing to support my work and sharing my passion for content creation. I am officially over 2K followers here on We Heart It and I can't even tell you how much that means to me. So, thank you!

Also, if you have no idea what this Soul Sparks series is about and you're curious to find out more, head on over to the first article and give it a read.

For this second article, I thought it would be fun to share my current favorite apps with all of you! I use most of these on a daily basis in order to take good care of my body, mind, and soul. I can be a real geek in the app department, but that's only because I just love using them. They make it so much easier for me to stay motivated and focused, to keep moving forward and continually grow as a person. So, let's get into my latest favourites...

quotes, inspiration, and motivation image

App #1

Day One

Now, I have searched long and hard for a beautiful, easy-to-use journaling app that would actually make it enjoyable for me to put my thoughts on paper (or on my phone, you know what I mean). I finally found it! I fell in love with the Day One app. It has the cleanest interface, I can create lots of journals for my different writings, and I can use it on both my phone and Macbook.

Most of the time, I use Day One to jot down my thoughts every single morning. I call them morning pages. I simply set a timer for 20 minutes, and start writing! It really helps me clear my mind, come up with solutions for whatever is going on in my life and become more aware of negative thoughts. I also keep a separate journal for my favourite quotes, and another one for self-reflection, which is where I collect all journal entries about my personal growth and goals.

App #2

The 5 Minute Journal

Just one more thing to add to the whole journaling experience. The 5 Minute Journal is actually a little book you can order online, to fill out every single morning and evening. Of course, since I am all about apps, I was so excited to stumble upon the launch of their very own official app!

This wonderful journal truly is the best way for me to focus on the good in my life, become more mindful, and live with intention. It allows me to start every day with gratitude, which turned out to be a real life-changer. Not because I wasn't feeling grateful before, but because I didn't really know how to incorporate some sort of routine to practice gratitude. This application absolutely nailed it, and it only takes me 10 minutes a day to fill it out. I recommend this app to everyone, it is simply the best.

App #3

Books (iOS)

If you have been following me for a while, you know I love to read! Even though I still really love the Blinkist app, I just felt the subscription fee was quite expensive, and so I decided to go for regular downloadable books on the iTunes Store. I'm such a sucker for technology, it's just too easy!

I usually read a little bit every morning and evening, or when I am traveling somewhere, visiting a different city or something like that. This app just really keeps me excited to read new books and add highlights, and stuff like that. I find it very inspiring to always have different books accessible through my phone, instead of having to carry a lot of different books with me in my bag.

App #4

Things

When it comes to planning your days and organizing your goals, it can be tricky to find an app that fits your every need. Things is the only app that does it all for me. It's simply the best task-management app out there, in my opinion! I use it to organize my goals, projects and to do's, but I also love to incorporate new habits into my life with this app, by creating a new project and adding in all of the steps for my morning and evening routine.

I'm a huge fan of the Passion Planner (I actually just ordered one for next year), so I write down all of my appointments and projects in my planner as well, but I like to have everything digitally on my phone in one place. Which is where this app comes in handy!

App #5

Oak

Again, because I just didn't want to end up paying subscriptions for all kinds of apps, I decided to try out a free meditation app. Oak is my absolute favorite, it's very easy to use, doesn't have too many options, but plenty for someone like me. It's just a great app for meditating, relaxing, and taking a little bit of time for yourself every now and then.

Bonus tip:
Meditation is a great habit for lots of different reasons, but it mainly helps us to stay focused. Since we are surrounded every day by all sorts of things that can distract us from doing the things we really want to do, I recommend setting a timer for tasks you need to complete during the day. This way you keep yourself focused on the task at hand and it feels great to stop the timer when you've finished a task earlier than you expected!

App #6

Yoga Studio

I love me some yoga! I've basically tried a lot of different yoga apps, and the reason I prefer Yoga Studio at the moment is that it is very easy to customize your own workouts, plan them in your calendar, and that's that. No complicated business, or paid programs that are promoted throughout using the application.

For me, still a beginner, this is the perfect way to get myself familiarised with all of the different poses and I get to challenge myself by adding more and more intermediate exercises into my workouts as well.

App #7

YouTube

This is a no-brainer, but I really wanted to mention it anyway. We all know how powerful our mind is, right? That's why this app is so interesting to me. I love YouTube because it's more than just a tool. It's a community, just like the one we have here on We Heart it!

I love to give myself a break to get inspired by watching videos surrounding my interests, but also to learn from other people. I've been able to train my mental strength by watching videos on YouTube. Get better at cooking. Develop healthier habits. Create a healthy balance in my life. It's so incredibly useful to be able to look up anything you want to get better at and immediately find some tips and tricks to get started with.

App #8

Camera +

I've truly noticed a tremendous difference between the quality of this photography app and the standard Camera app on my phone. So happy with this! It comes with all sorts of editing options as well, so it's actually a pretty complete app for making really great photographs with your phone. Love it!

App #9

PicTapGo

This is such a fun photography app to experiment with! There are loads of different filters that you can layer on top of each other, so you can basically make every picture look absolutely amazing. It's even possible to save different combinations of filters that you've used on top of each other, to get the same result on a different picture, without actually having to go through all of the steps again.
