It took me the longest to stop, and I still have self harming tendencies but these are some alternatives that might make the feeling go away.

1. Taking a really cold shower
2. Eating really spicy food
3. Drinking a very strong coffee
4. Listening to music loud whilst laying on the floor.
5. Crying whilst staring at a wall ( this is weird but might help)
6. Going for a run or a sprint.
7. Screaming as loud as you can into your pillow.
