this will be a matter of personal opinion, so don't get pissed at me. i won't be including japanese comebacks in this article, i will only be talking about their korean comeback songs.
these will be ranked from my least favourite to my favourite.

people said that red flavour had been replaced as the summer queen - those people were wrong. i just didn't like this song. it wasn't just because i didn't like the sound of the song, it was also because i just didn't really like the concept. don't get me wrong, i love the 'red' side of red velvet, but this just didn't grow on me. the choreography kills it, though, and the scout outfits are cute.

if i'm being honest, i think this song gets too much hate. i like their debut song, though i did have some aspects i disliked. the first was that yeri wasn't in it - this is just a way of reminding you that she deserves the world and i love her. the next is the stage outfits - i'm nitpicking, i know, but i'm trying to justify my choice - they were just super bland. i felt like they didn't really match the concept either; why are they wearing sport outfits in the jungle? either way, still a bop.

this comeback was good for many reasons. red velvet in suits, taeyong and red velvet, females in suits, etc. again, i'm sad that yeri could not join them, but i understand the circumstances of why. the reason this is so low on the list is purely because i haven't listened to it enough to really get excited when it comes on, but i still think it's good.

this was the first red velvet album i ever got, and i loved it. a lot of people say rookie was bad, but i couldn't disagree more. i really liked it. the song was catchy, the outfits were nice, and the mv was fun too. the only thing i didn't like that much was yeri's bangs.

she is, was, and always will be the summer queen. the song was super catchy, the music video was so bright and summery (YEAH NO SHIT BOO), and the outfits were super nice as well. my two criticisms are very minor and honestly kind of dumb. the first is the concept images of the girls in the dark with torches - what happened to them? no scenes like that were ever featured in the music video, the shots were magical but i'm not sure if they would've worked with the rest of the mv. so, why promote them? the second-- IRENE'S FUCKING BANGS. i didn't mind when it was a few sparse hairs, but when it was the thick bangs i just couldn't deal with it. the sparse little bangs were cute, the thick mess was not.

this song and music video is beautiful. it's a slow ballad piece, showcasing their incredible vocals and harmonising. from what i've gathered, the music video pays tribute to the sewol ferry tragedy of 2014, respectfully and beautifully at that. everything about it is so elegant, emotional, just something i really appreciated and loved.

i relate to this song on a spiritual level because i'm currently failing all my classes DUMBDUMBDUMBDUMBDUMBDUMB. the concept for this was super creative, and my favourite outfits were certainly the red robot outfits - but the version where they had their hair half up-half down. the only upsetting thing about this comeback is the amount of hate members got for gaining weight, especially wendy and joy. they still killed it, just as they always do.

sometimes i see kim kibum dancing to this in my dreams. anyway, i really liked ice cream cake. the song was super catchy and fun, the music video was fun, and i felt like they showcased the rapping talents of the group a lot more than any other comeback. joy's fast rapping - she can step on me, honestly.

I DON'T EVEN FUCKING CARE WHAT Y'ALL SAY, THIS IS A GREAT ASS SONG. the music video felt so simple yet calming and beautiful, the concept photos were gorgeous and glowing, the song and choreography was so smooth as well. i don't understand why they made wendy look like alice from alice in wonderland, but go for it boo.

the era has my favourite concept photos so far, without a doubt. that regal look had me deceased. the entire album was full of bops, and you can guarantee i had watched their live stages enough to know the dance off by heart. i loved the new sound, the outfits, everything was so good. joy killed it, yeri's short hair was beautiful, it was just great.

this only just beats peek-a-boo. again, the album was full of great songs and incredible live performances. something that puts it above peek-a-boo is the teaser - the character introduction videos for the comeback were so aesthetically pleasing and just beautifully filmed that i almost cried. there was so much fishnet, seulgi had a gun - they really fed the gays with this comeback.

this was the song that got me into red velvet, and i will always love it. every concept photo was aesthetically pleasing and gave off the exact same vibe as the music video. yeri's red hair was beautiful and underappreciated, as was irene's pink/purple hair. the music video concept was super cartoonish, but new and fresh. i really liked it. when i first watched the mv i looked at the outfits and fell in love with them - all of them. from the school gym uniforms to the frillier dresses and blouses, i really liked everything about this era.

i hope i didn't skip any--

oh. fuck.
