If you are in a very stressful time of the year, here is a 1-week program to reduce anxiety and blast calories at the same time.


Here is my program. During the week there will be three days dedicated to a total body workout and two days dedicated to yoga.

There are also some foods that can comfort you and soothe your stress:

⇻ Spinach, kale, collard greens, Swiss chard, broccoli rabe, mustard greens... they're all rich in folate, which helps your body manufacture neurotransmitters that help regulate mood.
⇻ The turkey contains L-tryptophan, which is an amino acid your body needs to convert into serotonin, which plays a role in mood.

⇻ Some researchers studying post-traumatic stress disorder fed rats a diet rich in blueberries and they found that levels of serotonin in the brain increased, suggesting that blueberries might have a beneficial effect on stress.
⇻ Dark chocolate contains some antioxidants that can relax the walls of your blood vessels, hence lowering blood pressure and enhancing circulation.
⇻ Milk is high in vitamin D, which is a nutrient associated with happiness.
